You take 3 hydrocodone a day and 2 at night and if you wake up in the middle of the night you take another one could you be addicted?

well my back muscles hurt lately from work sitten in a hard chair the wrong way. i don't feel the urge to take them that's why im asking fool!..my back just hurts so just wondering

If you are taking four to five a day, you are addicted. Period. It is not possible that you are not. You may have your reasons for doing so, or it may just be denial. But you're addicted.

Try not taking any for about 24 hours. But make sure someone is there with you. You may need their help going through withdrawal.

Well Mr. Addiction Professional, get real, 4 or 5 a day is not going to be a withdraw like you described. If anything you may be a little tired and possibly have a runny nose or something but come on we are not talking heroin here. You obviously are one of those book educated drug and alcohol counselors

Dear ADDICT! Yup, Mr. Addiction is is RIGHT! You can have major withdrawls from small but regular use. Do more research on the subject on this very site. I do not, however agree that if you take 4 or 5 a day you are aoutomatically an addict. This is a common number, up to "take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours as needed for pain" this is the common prescription for up to a week. If you wake up in the middle of the night craving anything you habitually use during the day, you are an addict. If you ask yourself the question, "Am I an addict?" The answer is YES! you are. If you ask another person, or better yet an entire community, WikiAnswer, for instance "Could I be an addict?' The answer is YES, YOU ARE AN ADDICT!!!! Why on earht would you ask this question if you actually did not want an answer, and respond to someones answer with absolute rudeness? Get over yourself and get to a meeting!

A.The person asked if they could be addicted. There is a difference between being addicted and being an addict in the sense implied above. Many people have become addicted to drugs on doses less than the "regular" dosage, including myself. My original advice still holds.
