there a strap on the middle of the rear seat (upper portion line up with the third breake light) coming out of the seat, you just pulled and it should released, if it is not there it problably went into the seat itself, (I had this problem) there should be a small slit on the seat, use some needle nose pliers and fish it out.

What is the purpose of the orifice tube?

A/C Orifice Tubes. The orifice tube acts as a small filter and restrictor inside the a/c system. The Freon gas passes through the small screen mesh of the tube and any debris (mostly metal shavings that come from normal wear and tear of the compressor) will get trapped, and the Freon gas will also be slowed down and restricted as it passes through the small opening of the orifice.

There are different orifice tubes with different size openings/restrictions, and the color of the orifice can differentiate their diameter

How to replace thermostat on a cavalier 97?

To change the thermostat you must follow the lower radiator hose from the radiator to the "Y" shaped housing. To locate this housing stand in front of the vehicle, look directly down and to the left of the engine front.. it is pretty easily seen. it is above the ac/compressor. and in front of the water pump. All you need to do is remove the 2 bolts that hold the housing together, then separate the housing, pull the old thermostat out and clean the matting surfaces of the housing before you install new stat and gasket. After this, put stat in where you took it out... put new gasket on.. connect the two halves and tighten bolts... Job finished.

Overheating 97 cavalier all new parts still overheats?

After a new temp.sensor, water pump, radiator, thermostat also new radiator cap....- i read online about a restriction-or blocking in heater core. i had heat. flushed heater core from both ends-1 pipe then the other...now it is fine-runs 195-215 degrees variance none of the 'pros' could get it. the answer lies in the forums...like this one. i was so pleased. i spent $400 ++ dollars and still worried about overheating. had no blown head gasket symptoms( white smoke in exhaust ,beige oil color, pressure coming back into overflow tank. even put a mini-camera into cylinders to see if they -or just 1 was clean- from a steam cleaning by way of hot water steaming inside cylinder. Radiator- new and old were cool...not the way it should be. i urged the mechanic to check flow in all different areas of system for restriction. i have also read egr valve- this will usually trip a code-check engine lite. anyway- mechanic seemed unwilling to start looking on answer boards-like these for future problems...he can cost folks a lot of wasted money. i saved the day and my daughters' car!

Ps. the cooling fan comes on at 220 approx. degrees - if I recall what I read - I read a lot. BE WARY OF FOLKS THAT IMMEDIATELY SAY"BLOWN HEAD GASKET". I HAVE DESCRIBED THE HEAD GASKET SYMPTOMS EARLIER IN MY ANSWER... keep googling the problem in different wording- the answers change almost each time i went back into Q/A forums... don't rush to pay a 'guru' $15 for an answer....that seems so petty....we can help each other based on real world situations that come to a resolution- good or bad. mine was good thanks to sites like this...and i did not have to join-donate-give my wife's measurements, etc.

How do you fix a window that's stuck for a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier?

stuck how? I assume you mean on the way up or down, there are a few answers to this,, it could be the molding pinching the glass itself,, but in most cases its a misalignment of the glass as it travels in the track, window glass is secured at the bottom and often comes loose, to remedy this, you have to remove the inner door panel, and tighten that mount

Why is your 2004 cavalier idling to high?

the only thing i can think of is a crack in the intake manifold. my cavalier's manifold cracked and it was idling at like 2500RPM as opposed to the normal 1000-1500, also i had trouble with my brakes and misc other problems because of the crack. if it is just idling too high and there are no other problems i would guess that it is just compensating for the cold. if there are other little issues, i would look into having your intake manifold checked out. gotta take care of your baby because cavaliers are such great cars...... :p

Is the cavalier the same model and parts as the z24?

A Z-24 is a Cavalier. So yes...depending on what parts, it's the same car. The body parts, interior, etc is the same. Depending on what years of Z-24 you are talking about, pre-95 Z-24s came with a 3.1 V-6 instead of the 4 popper, various body spoilers, and a little stiffer suspension.
