no its a throttle body injected engine

smokingallowed say's...Fenner82 is on the right track but not completely correct. His "TBI" engine has 1 fuel injector "squirting fuel strait down into the throttle body", and your Z24 has a multi-port injection system(1 fuel injector for each cylinder) which "squirts" fuel into the intake at the engine head.

I replaced the head and works ok now

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire

The Fix
Best first action is a tune up, new plugs, wires, inspect all hoses and wire connections then reset the code. If it returns you will need to narrow it down to a system, coils and coil packs should be tested, catalytic converters for function ( do you smell rotten eggs?). A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.

There can be several things wrong. How many miles is on the car?? Most cases if a vehicle will not start but does crank over then ethier there is no spark or no fuel. You need to trouble shoot the problem so you will not end up replacing parts that you do not need. There is a simple test to eliminate it is a spark or fuel problem. If you have starting fluid, have someone crank over the engine while you spray a little starting fluid in the throttle body. If the car starts but shuts down right away then you have a fuel problem. If it does not start then you have a spark problem and it could anything from a simple tune up to the coil packs went bad. Also, there is a electronic control module underneath the distributer cap. They do go bad every 30,000 miles and it costs about 30 dollars. If it is the coil packs they also cost about 30 dollars a piece and there are 2 of them.

Yes it will fit on the rim since they are 15 inch, they will fit the cavalier if it has had the 195/65R15, the 205/65R15 is a little wider than the 195/65R15.

Keep in mind that the cavalier also had multiple different sizes, 195/70R14, 195/65R15 and the Z24 had the 205/55R16 applies to 1995 to 2005 cavalier models,you can also change the whole wheel assemblies even if different size as long as its from the cavalier or sunfire models, but do change all four for best results.

If your cavalier has the 15 inch rims it will fit, just make sure that the tire has enough clearance to ensure that they wont rub on the inner body areas such as parts of the wheel well, putting the 205/65R15 should be ok, since the cavalier does have a pretty deep wheel well and that the Z24 has the 205 tires.

Its been tried tested and true putting different wheel / tire size, as people have put the 205/55R16 Z24 wheels on a non Z24 models, and they all have the 5x100 rims, 5x referring to the numbers of bolt holes and 100 referring to the middle hole that is mounted to the hub 100 ( mm ) millimeters.

195 mm can be changed with 205 mm. by mounting on the wider tires such as 205/65R15, upgrading from the 195/65R15.

( R ) Radial.

( 15 ) mouth of tire in inches, ( 15 inches ).

Also keep tires properly inflated for best safety, fuel economy, tire wear, refer to manufacturer given information(s) / spec(s)

the bolt pattern is different but you can find similar rims from discount tire or any other tire website the bolt pattern for your cavi is 5:100 the mustang is 5:114, plus the back spacing is also different but if you look for them for your specific car you will find the right size for your car

I just had this done today on an '05 Cavalier. The labor was $130 and the part was $60. Total $210.

I guess it's worth it to keep my sanity through the winter.

I recently took a 200 mile trip in my 2005 Cavalier. A week prior to this trip I had the coolant replaced. About 20 miles from home, the temperature gauge dropped from 195 to about 110. The heater and defroster ran right, there was no steam no leaks from radiator or heater core. After stopping to check, I restarted my car and the temp gauge went back to 195. It has been a couple of days and everything is running normal. I need to get it fixed if something is wrong because it only has 70,000 miles, and cannot afford to buy a new car now.

no. they are both 2.2 eco techs but they have different transmissions. the 2007 cobalt will have 9 bellhousing bolts and the 2004 cavalier will have 7. the cobalt will run a 3 wire hall effect crankshaft sensor and the cavalier runs a 2 wire permanent magnet sensor. this means a different reluctor  wheel and therefore it wouldn't run anyways without the cobalt harness and tranny.

best answer is take it to a brake shop it's not something that should put your life on the line for. but if you have to do it you will need a Chevy brake tool or an Allen wrench to remove the calipers then its simple to switch out pads. drums again I recomend a shop.

the only way I've repaired a dashboard was by laying a small bit of plastic in the crack and wedging it in, then painting over it. it's not beautiful, but it did look better than a crack.

No...The problem comes in with the bolts that hold the flywheel onto the crankshaft. You just cant get to them with the tranny still mounted. And then at the other end,you have the timing chain. And in the middle (inside the oil pan you have the chain that drives the oil pump. Also...cleanliness is a big factor....pulling the engine and tranny as a unit out the top is not that difficult, but it is designed to come out the bottom. All the plugins are different..remove the crank pully, the intake manifold(so to give more clearance for the exhaust pipe to clear the "arm" part of the tranny in the back part of the engine), the tranny mount from the car(driver side) and bend the corner of the battery tray alittle. Then peel back the brake master cylinder without removing any brake lines... It comes out without any problems.
