A detox center will be able to provide chloral hydrate which in itself is help due to is sedative properties, depending on the weight of the individual, dosing will vary.
Once more, be advised that taking a drinker off alcohol abruptly can due major damage, please get help. You would be surprised at how long the list available for helping alcohol and drug dependence actually is.
