A few years ago sports illustrated did a piece where they travled to all 50 states and asked a certain amount of people what sport was most popular and football was the winner almost every time.

The amount of money an NBA player makes in a game all depends on the contract he signs with his team. For instance, when Shaquille O'Neal signed a huge contract to play for the Lakers back in '96, it was for seven years and $120 million. When you break it down, it goes like this:

120 / 7 years = 17.1 million a year

17.1 million / 82 = $208,536.58 per game!

When you're as big as Shaq, you got the kind of wallet and pockets to carry around that kind of money!
