under the hood. where all the fuses are. have a friend turn the key to start it, but with out starting it up. you will hear a click sound if it is good. if you hear your fuel pump kick on when the key is turned, then its good.

The sensor is located behind the intake and retained by a single bolt inserted and tightened through the clamp that is part of the sensor. It is the one on the passenger side of rear of the engine. It will pull up and out after removing the clamp bolt. Don't confuse this one with the oil sending unit ... damage to the oil sensor is about $100 to repair :)

I am assuming you have no leaks that must be repaired. To begin you will need a conversion kit with all the necessary materials. It will include: 2 new adapter fittings, 2 -3 cans of R-134, and a hose with adapter. Once you have all the materials, you can begin the process. The first thing you have to do is have the R12 recovered with a refrigerant recovery machine. (It is illegal to just open the valve and let it out in the air.) As I am sure you do not have such a machine, take it to a professional shop and have them remove the R12. As R12 is very expensive, they should remove it for free, just to aquire it for resale. You may even get a few dollars for it. Now that the air conditioning system has no pressure, it is time to install the new valve kit. The bigger one goes on the low pressure side of the system and the refrigerant hose will only connect to the low side valve. It is pretty hard to mess this up. Now that the adapter valves are connected, it is time to start the car and put the air conditioner on high. Turn the blower fan to its highest setting as well and open the windows. Grab a can of R134 and hook up the hose and T valve that came with your kit. With the hose hooked up to the can begin to twist the T valve until it punctures the can. Then open the valve to let some freon out and purge the air in the line. Turn the can upside down and hook it up to the low side adapter valve. Now slowly open the valve and let the Freon flow into the system. At this point the compressor will begin to cycle on and off. Don't panic, this is normal. Keep adding Freon until the system begins to cool. You can feel the low pressure line begin to get cool and condensation will accumulate on it. (Do not grab the high pressure line. It can burn you.) You probably will not need all 3 cans and be careful not to overfill the system. If the air conditioner is still not cooling after the second can, something is wrong. You may have a leak in the system or some other difficulty. Do not be tempted to keep pumping R134 in the lines. If the low side line is cold and dripping with moisture you are done. If you have a A/C Manifold Gage Set, the low side should have a pressure of 40 - 50 psi.

You have the part number there, and judging by it, you are somewhere in nthe 80's. However, there is a pad, right in front of the driverside cylinder head, that will tell you everything about it. If it is out of the car, on the bellhousing flange just off center, to the drivers side, you will see a letter, followed by 1, or 2 numbers, a space, and 1 more number. The letter, is the month, A, is Jan, B, is Feb, C, is March, and so on. The next 1, or 2 numbers, are the day of the month. The last number is the year. 1, would be 81, 2 would be 82, ect.

Power to coil? Bad spark plug wire? Bad cap or rotor? Please, pick your choice......

TO CHANGE ANY STARTER IS THE SAME! Unhook battery cable, go to starter, unhook wires, depending on vechile, the flywheel cover may have to be removed. Unboot the starter and your done. Instalion is the opsite of what i just stated. FYI, flywheel cover on gm trucks, normally have at least 6 bolts.

the caliper needs a special tool. the piston does not push straight in. the spring needs to be released at the rear of the caliper. then using the special tool the piston twists back in to place

Poor performance and lack of power can be caused by many things and you'll need to figure out what is going on.

Some of the more common are:

* improper ignition timing * damaged or worn out sensors * poor compression * worn or fouled sparkplugs * dirty air cleaner But it's relatively simple to check some of these. First, look at the air cleaner, maybe you can just replace it and everything will be fine.

Next, connect an engine diagnostic scanner to see if anything simple is wrong. The scanner can point out a lot of problems that the computer can detect.

After that, run a compression test. If the engine has low compression you won't be able to get much performance out of it. When you are checking the compression, examine the plugs. If they're fouled or the electrodes are excessively worn it might be a good time to replace them.

if your A/C light is flashing where you adjust temperature and its not blowing cold, try disconnecting the batter for a few minutes, and it will sometimes reset the programming for the air and stop it from flashing, and blow cold, it worked on my 1991 Chevy 2500

At least 5 quarts and possibly 6. Park the truck on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Add 5 quarts of oil, start the engine, and run for 45 seconds. Shut down and wait 45 minutes. Check the oil level and add until it is full. You now know.

Pre 89, 5. 89, and newer, 6. All the high performance motors used a windage tray systerm, and pan, that took 6, as well.
