How do you get polyurethane stains off linoleum?
My nephew had applied polyurethane to the bedroom floor and accidentally got some on the linoleum flooring outside of my bedroom. I tried taking it out with goof off and paint thinner to no avail. I decided to see if I could lift the stain by applying steam to it. So I kept applying steam with my Shark Steam cleaner for a couple of minutes. It seem to loosen the stain. I then used a small scraper, wrapped it in a Lysol wipe and was able to remove the stain with a little elbow grease. Thank goodness it was a small area here and there. Hope it works for you.

Why does vinegar clean a penny?
Another great way to clean pennies is to use a solution of vinegar and salt. Fill a cup about 1/4 of vinegar and a teaspoon of salt (more salt, faster reaction). The tarnish that forms on a penny is copper oxide. The salt and vinegar create an acid solution that causes the copper oxide to dissolve off the coins. Once they are clean they should have their original shiny coat. Remember though, if there are pits in the pennies they will show now that the oxide has been removed. If you don't have vinegar any acid such as lemon juice or Coke/Pepsi will work as well.
HOWEVER ....Cleaning an ordinary modern penny is fine because there are so many of them. But you should NEVER, EVER try to clean a collectible coin because anything you have at home will damage the coin's surface and reduce or even destroy its value to another collector. How do detergents clean the grease from your clothes?

Can vinegar remove coffee stains?
Vinegar has an acidic base which can be used to break down coffee stains. However the likelihood of it completely removing the stain is very low. These type of stains contain dark pigments which adhere to surfaces. To best remove these types of stains, a surfactant based cleaner should be used. This type of cleaner will allow the stain to become permeated by the water used when mixed with the cleaner. When a stain becomes water soluble, it loses it's adherence and can then be flushed away from the surface. The acidic base of vinegar can not do this because it is unable to make a stain water soluble. Therefore, it will only break down the outermost areas of the stain and be unable to break the immediate stain away from the surface it has adhered to.
