It is not recommended to use bleach in a pressure washer as it can damage the internal components and seals. Bleach can also be harmful if sprayed onto plants or vegetation. It is best to use cleaning solutions specifically designed for pressure washers.

Start with a ratio of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water for a light fade effect. For a 50 percent bleach solution, you can use a 1:1 ratio of bleach to water to achieve a stronger fading effect. Test on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first to ensure the desired result.

To remove stains on ceramic tiles, you can create a paste of baking soda and water and scrub the stain with a soft-bristled brush. For tougher stains, you can use a mild acid like vinegar or lemon juice. Make sure to rinse the area thoroughly after cleaning to prevent any residue.

To remove dog urine from carpet, first blot up as much of the urine as possible with paper towels. Mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water and apply it to the affected area. Blot the area again with clean paper towels and then sprinkle baking soda over the spot to neutralize odors. Let it sit for a few hours before vacuuming up the baking soda.

One way to remove ink from paper is by using rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover on a cotton ball and gently dabbing the stained area. Another method is to moisten a cotton swab with a small amount of white vinegar and carefully dab the ink stain until it fades. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area of the paper first to ensure it doesn't cause damage.

You can try soaking the stained clothing in a mixture of water and vinegar for 30 minutes, then wash as usual. Alternatively, you can use a color-safe bleach or a commercial color remover following the product instructions. It's important to treat the stain as soon as possible for the best results.

Removing pet, rodent, or human urine and the resulting odor from any material that is porous is a tough job because as the urine dries the component of the urine that is responsible for the odor (uric acid) changes or decomposes into ammonia gas and urea salt.

When the water in the urine finally evaporates, the ammonia gas is not longer produced but the urea salt is still there waiting for a little water vapor and hydrogen sulfide to change into mercaptan gas (the same group of gass that give propane and natural gas their odor.)

There are two forms of urea salt. The one that has chemically bonded to what ever it precipitated on and the crystallized version. The bonded version is very difficult to remove because it is not longer soluble. The crystallized version is readily soluble in water, but if not removed from the contaminated area and left to dry, it too will chemically bond to the material if it can not find some other urea salt to crystallize on.

If there is no detergent residue in the contaminated area, enzyme urine odor remover products (like Natures Miracle, Simple Solution, OdoBan and others available mostly at pet stores) will neutralize the urea salt by accelerating its conversion into mercaptan gas. This can take as long as several days during which time the contaminated area must be kept wet. Often the odor produced is really bad but when the odor is gone, it will not come back unless the enzyme product dried out too soon or the area is recontaminated. Enzyme products often work well on carpet padding too.

An alternative to enzyme products are water soluble organic essential oil products (OdorXit Concentrate) that work in combination with detergents and surfactants to neutralize the source of urine odors. These products, like enzyme products are contact chemistry (they must come in direct contact with the offending material in order to neutralize it.) The biggest benefit to these products aside from the fact that they permanently neutralize the source of the odor, is that they work in several hours and product very little mercaptan gas in the process on a wide variety of hard and soft materials. The down side is that carpet padding does not respond very will.

The last and poorest solution is perfume cover up products. If you want your house to smell like lilac or bubble gun plus urine, there are plenty of products at the grocery store to choose from.

Finally, there are no home made urine odor removal products because urea salt simply does not react with the stuff you have around your house except for water and hydrogen sulfide. Bleach, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, detergents, all will dissolve the crystallized version of urea salt but will not neutralize it. If not removed this action will make the contaminated area larger and more difficult to repair.

The pH of Lime-A-Way cleaner is typically around 2 to 3, making it highly acidic. This acidity helps to dissolve mineral deposits and stains from surfaces like bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances. However, it is important to use this product with caution and follow safety guidelines to protect surfaces and skin from damage.

Foaming soap dispensers were invented about 15 years ago by a Dutch company called Airspray. The best way for consumers to get a foaming soap dispenser is to buy one at a retail store. Some empty foamers are sold, but most come with soap already in them. My personal favorite in the US are the foamers from a company called Method. Their foamers are available for $3-4 from most Target stores. The solution for foaming soap is far more dilute than regular liquid soaps. If you start with a solution 10% liquid soap and 90% distilled water, you will be pretty close. I recommend distilled water because you'll get consistent repeatable results with that. Foaming soap is always white; the only reason you'll get some other color is if the soap is over-concentrated. You CANNOT make foaming soap from a lotion. It will not work. If you try, the lotion will splatter and sputter.

Bleaching carpets is not recommended as it can damage the fibers and alter the color in unpredictable ways. It is better to use a mild carpet cleaner or contact a professional carpet cleaning service for tough stains.

It is safe to use a mixture of alcohol and water to clean granite surfaces. Alcohol helps to disinfect and remove grease, while water dilutes the alcohol to prevent damage. However, it is important to avoid using acidic or abrasive cleaners on granite as they can cause damage over time.

To remove a permanent marker stain from a shirt, try rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer on the stain and then wash the shirt in cold water. You can also try using a mixture of vinegar and baking soda to help lift the stain before washing. It may take a few attempts to completely remove the stain.

Sterile pollen does not take acetocarmine stain because acetocarmine specifically stains the nuclei of cells, and sterile pollen does not contain viable reproductive cells or nuclei. Sterile pollen lacks the genetic material necessary for staining with acetocarmine.

Yikes! It's been dried already? Well, I've always used hairspray on ink stains and have been able to fade the stains pretty well! Soak the stain with any hairspray and use a toothbrush to scrub the stain. Wash in as hot of water as allowed for the fabric. Maybe try soaking in some hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol as well. Continue the hairspray and toothbrush routine a few times to fade it. Good luck!

Mineral spirits aren't that good a choice for window cleaning. The so-called "dollar stores" have cheap window cleaner, or you can make your own. Mineral spirits are a petroleum distilate. Sure, they're low odor, but they are flammable, volatile and more toxic than any "regular" window cleaner. This industrial solvent will not remove all the stuff on a dirty window. Some of the things on the glass are not going to be solvent in mineral spirits. On the other hand, window cleaner will remove water-soluble gunk (cause it's mostly water) and has a surfactant that will pick up any grease.

Don't put it in the dryer or iron it before treating the stain if it can be helped. Heat helps set the dye stain in further. If it is too late for that, no worries. You can still try to save it.

RIT dye makes a dye remover. You add it to a sinkful of hot water and hand wash the stained item. When you are done, you throw it in the washer and it is usually fine. They make a separate remover for red dyes that have bled in the wash. I have used it before and it worked great for me. It was simple and there was no trace of the red dye stain left when I was done. I recall it ran somewhere around $2 or 3 US.

To clean calcium deposits from a shower head, you can soak the shower head in vinegar overnight to dissolve the calcium buildup. After soaking, scrub the shower head with a brush to remove any remaining deposits. Finally, rinse the shower head thoroughly with water.

You can purchase enzyme presoak for stains at most major grocery stores, online retailers like Amazon, or specialty cleaning supply stores. Look for brands like OxiClean, Carbona, or BIZ that offer enzyme-based pre-soaking solutions for effective stain removal.
