How does a friction effect with bicycling?

friction makes riding a bike possible.

When the tire presses on the ground, friction acts against the rotation of the tire, fixing the lowest point of the wheel on the floor.

This force is transmitted to the axel of the wheel and is what propels the bicycle forwards.

What are the advantages and disadvantages to using a bicycle basket regarding issues such as balance while riding weather weight distribution etc?

If we're talking about a front-mounted basket it'll be more comfortable and safer than wearing a shoulder bag. Your back don't get as sticky as when wearing a backpack. The bike will balance "right" from the beginning as opposed to when using a single pannier. Weight distribuition will also be better, as bikes carry most of their weight on the rear wheel anyhow. If you have to do technically complicated riding it'll be a downside, as the greater weight at the front makes it harder to yank the front wheel around. Weather isn't really an issue either way.

How far is 43 kpm?

Can't think of any unit of measure known as kpm. KPH is sometimes used for Kilometers per hour, but that's a speed, not a distance.

I guess kpm could be kilometers per minute, again a speed, and not a widely used one at that.

My headset bolt just spins round and doesn't undo. how do you remove it so you can remove the forks from the frame?

Need to know what kind of headset you've got to be able to answer that. If it's a threaded headset with a quill stem you just need to undo the screw a few turns, then tap the screw down. After that you should be able to pull the stem out and undo the fork by removing the locknut and then the top headset cup.

If it's a threadless fork the compression cap should come off after undoing the top screw, after which you can undo the stem bolts, slide the stem off and the fork should come right out. If something really strange has happened to your compression cap bolt you'll simply have to cut away the compression cap to get the fork out. They're usually quite soft, some are even plastic, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Can someone please evaluate freewheeling single speed bicycles in terms of efficiency?

Don't really understand your question. A bicycle while freewheeling AKA coasting isn't receiving any energy input from the rider. W/o energy input there's really not much point in calculating efficency.

On a flat surface the bike will simply roll to a stop as air drag, bearing losses, and rolling resistance in the tires slowly use up all of the momentum or kinetic energy that was in the bike + rider at the moment the rider stopped pedalling.

If it's at a downhill slope, then gravity will try to drag the bike forward/down, if the frward vector of gravity is bigger than the bearing losses, rolling resistance etc etc.

On a singl speed bike while pedalling, the freewheel isn't moving WRT the hub, so the issue becomes moot. What you're left with is the efficiency of a chain drive( which is high, 98% or so). And for the whole vehicle you then have to subtract bearing losses, rolling resistance ASO.

If you include the rider you might want to consider the losses in turning food(chemical energy) into kinetic energ(i.e. the bike moving forward). And with that approach stuff like bearing losses aren't even on the chart and can be ignored.

How much training is needed to become a professional road cyclist?

Endless hours for years and years. Something like 3+ hours/day for most days of the week, and only a little less during the off season.

What is the reason a person would have burning in their legs?

The burning would be from the build up of lactic acid, it comes from your muscles asking for more oxygen and energy than your bloodstream can provide. It's not dangerous. The best thing is to walk/ride at an easy effort for 5-10 minutes to get it all flushed out of your muscles. Once you get fitter, you can work harder w/o getting the burn.
