What diagnostic tools can help diagnose the cause of diarrhea?

Blood tests - Blood tests can sometimes provide information about the cause of chronic diarrhea and the secondary effects of diarrhea on overall health.

Complete blood count - A complete blood count (CBC) can detect the anemia that results from long-standing blood loss or inflammation. It can also detect an elevated number of white blood cells, which may signal that diarrhea is being caused by inflammation, infections, allergies, or cancer.

Blood chemistry - Blood chemistry tests can detect dehydration and electrolyte (salt and mineral) imbalances, as well as liver problems and nutritional deficiencies.

Peptides - Certain rare tumors (such as carcinoid or tumors producing "vasoactive intestinal polypeptide") can produce hormones called peptides that promote diarrhea and can be detected in a blood sample.

Antibodies - Tests can detect elevated blood levels of antibodies directed at infectious organisms or antibodies directed at the body's own tissues (called autoantibodies). An example of the latter is an antibody test against tissue transglutaminase. Presence of this autoantibody frequently indicates the presence of celiac disease, a disorder caused by allergy to wheat proteins.

Inflammatory markers - The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels are nonspecific markers of inflammation. Elevation of these markers may signal inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).

How do you remove diarrhea stain from carpet?

When i searched for this i found: "try shaving cream!!!!! hope it works on your carpet!!!!!"

Im not sure on the correctness of this answer but it seemed a little unlikely to be of any use to me.
SHAVING CREAM WORKS SO SHUT CHO MOUTH!!!!

I searched several other places, and found several answers ranging from carpet shampooer to water and white distilled vineger.

The carpet shampooer option seems pretty self explanitory, Just use a carpet shampooer.

The water and white distilled vineger option went as follows:
You will need:

  • Latex gloves
  • Plastic garbage bag
  • Paper towels
  • Water
  • White distilled vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Vacuum cleaner
Method:

  1. Prepare yourself according to universal health precautions before cleaning bodily fluids. Place an open plastic bag directly beside the mess, and wear latex gloves.
  2. Step 2
Gather appropriate cleaning supplies, and prepare a mixture of equal parts water and white distilled vinegar. Having your supplies handy reduces time spent cleaning and the risk of spreading germs throughout your home.
  3. Step 3
Scoop up excess waste with paper towels, and avoid putting any pressure on the carpet while doing so. Place soiled paper towels into the plastic garbage bag as you work.
  4. Step 4
Pour the vinegar and water mixture onto the soiled area. You may want to test an inconspicuous area for colorfastness before use.
  5. Step 5
Blot up the solution from the carpet with paper towels, but do not rub the stain. Continue blotting until the towels absorb all liquid. Apply heavy pressure or stand on the towels to ensure removal of liquid.
  6. Step 6
If the stain persists, repeat the vinegar and water process.
  7. Step 7
Seal and dispose of the plastic garbage bag.
  8. Step 8
Sprinkle baking soda on the freshly cleaned area. Allow the baking soda to sit and absorb excess odors or liquids.
  9. Step 9
    Vacuum the area when dry.

I didn't have any of these things in the house when I was looking for the answer (well i did have shaving foam but i thought it a stupid idea), so i improvised.

Instead of the vineger i used antibacterial washing up liquid, and toilet roll for the paper towels.

The impression i got from my research was that it was very important to clean it up as soon as possible. If it dries you run a high risk of stains.

I hope this is useful for anyone with the same problem i had.

Why does Outback steakhouse give you diarrhea his is a serious question It happens like clock-work every time?

Those that are not avid meat eaters may have this problem. Especially if your digestive system is not used to Kangaroo meat.

The above answer is silly, but this happens to me too. That is how I ended up here--because I Googled this topic. I do not have a sensitive stomach, but every single time I eat at Outback, my stomach gets messed up---I'm currently on day 2 of messed up stomach. I'm never eating there again!! I like the restaurant & the food, but it just does not agree with me & I'm not sure what it is---I can eat a salad, a steak, chicken, salmon, a burger---it doesn't matter--- I get a MESSED up stomach. Is it the spices or is it some sort of oil they put on their food before grilling it? WHO HAS THIS ANSWER???
