I love caterpillar raising and here are the main things I've learned: -Keep in a dry well ventilated container -If you have more then one try and keep them separate some get aggressive with each other -Glass containers are best, or mesh: but make sure the size is appropriate in proportion to the caterpillar -Find out the type of leaves the caterpillar feeds on and make sure you give fresh leaves at least every two days (moths tend to eat tree leaves and butterflies like flower or plant leaves) -Handle them as little as possible -Clean the container every two or three days, don't use harsh chemicals, just water will do Good Luck!

(Despite the fact that cold winters in most parts of the U.S. would kill any that escaped captivity.) Licenses are generally only granted to zoos and universities, so the chance that you'll be able to keep a stick insect as a pet is rather unlikely. Legally, anyway.

Steatoda are shaped similarly to widow spiders, with round, bulbous abdomens. A few come in very, very dark brown and closely resemble the black widow. Yes, but especially if there are several or several over period of time. Flies are usually attracted to dead material because that is where they will lay their eggs. The eggs hatch into larvae (maggots) which will use that as a food source. The adult flies will pick up a great number of bacteria on their feet and when walking on your food , will leave some behind. You shouldn't worry too much if it is one fly and you eat the food as soon as it is put on the table. The acid in your stomach will destroy them.
