I dont really know i just need to know the right answer for my Social Studies project! And I think the answer is correct. I think the Rhode Island colonist did shar e with the other colony's.

Santa Cruz

The capital of Tenerife is Santa Cruz de Tenerife which is also, together with Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, the capital of the Canary Islands, which are a territory of Spain.

The purpose of "Island Hopping" was to bypass and cut off certain heavily defended areas that did not serve an absolutely vital purpose in the Allied advance to Japan. By cutting off certain Japanese strong points, the Allies were able to, in most cases, keep those strongpoints from being re-supplied. With no way of being re-supplied, the Japanese troops stationed in those areas would literally starve or die from any of a number of tropical diseases. The primary benefit to this strategy was that by not engaging the Japanese troops in these strong points, the number of Japanese troops available for combat elsewhere would decrease while the lives of many Allied soldiers would be saved.

Only if you are an adventurer...fishing...The island is close to Haiti. When you look at a map it looks like it should belong to Haiti. Jamaica, Cuba and the United States are much more further away. Yet, the US claimed it but Haiti disputes it. People say there is no one on the island but Haitian fishermen make a living there. Natural minerals on the island are limestone and guano. It is being administered by the Fish and Wildlife Department of the US.
