This is an amazing phone, i got it for Christmas and absolutly love it.

I too had the choice from the Xenon and the Impression and the Impression had better reviews. I drop it almost everyday(thats why i have a case on it) and it STILL works and looks brand new, If the phone is going to a teenager, i would say that a screen protecter and a hard shell case for the phone. This is an amazing, durrable cell phone and i dont plan on getting a new one anytime soon(unless i flush mine down a toilete HAHA (: )

Have you set the phone to power save and if yes how long,

Is the auto shut down on in settings - chek teh time limit,

Is the battery failing - check full power charge to shut down time

Are there any apps running which is shutting down the phone, chck these as well.
