Sub: Application for H Scholarship in Electrical Engineering, 2008 - 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is L. I am a student of P University and I am currently enrolled in the 6th semester of the Electrical Engineering Program, majoring in Electronics.

With this letter, I would like to apply for the H Scholarship for my Final Year of Bachelor's Degree that will be conducted at F University in A country during the academic year 2008-2009.

Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. I was born in a family with a strong belief in the importance of education. Being highly motivated by my parents, especially my father, I have always striven to be the best student. Thus my academic performance has always been on top of the class.

In addition to my academic activities, I also give time to my community. I take part in many social activities experiencing work in a group together with many people from different backgrounds. Therefore, I can adapt to new situations and make friends easily. I am also comfortable with individual work......

I have an interest in Electrical Engineering especially the fields that relate to research. I wish to develop my knowledge and skills in this area in order to become a good researcher. It is my dream to contribute to the development of this field in my country. However, my country has not taken such a great step in this field. After consulting some of my lecturers, I decided to apply for H Scholarship and to conduct my Final Year Bachelor's Degree in A country.

This scholarship will provide me an opportunity of experiencing an international education. Being a country with many students from different culture and nationalities, A country is a perfect choice for me. I can meet different kind of people who will give me different points of views, which will be both valuable and enriching. This will improve my ability in interacting with other people from different cultures and nationalities.

I believe this scholarship will open my path to do research in A country. This scholarship will become a springboard and my first step towards my goal. I plan to continue my master degree and do research in A country if I can get this opportunity. I sincerely hope that my qualifications and educational experiences will meet your high requirements.

Please find enclosed all the required documents for the H scholarship. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further details or documents.

I thank you for your consideration, and I am looking forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,

What does a four year scholarship entail?

A four year scholarship to an accredited college/university entails that a student must obtain a certain GPA or the scholarship money will be garnished. The scholarship company will send money to a student's college directly before a semester begins. A student cannot transfer the scholarship to another school they attend. If the money that a scholarship provides to a school is too much they may let the student use it on books but is otherwise withheld by the scholarship company.

How would a scholarship benefit me and my country?

I have not received any form of scholarships besides KEES money earned in high school. It is something that the state of Kentucky has if you earn good grades throughout your high school years. Although, if I were to win any type of scholarship that I have applied for, I would be thrilled. It honestly would mean the world to me. I come from a family that doesn't have very much money because of the many hardships that we have went through while I was growing up. So it's very hard to pay off college without taking out loans. If I could win a scholarship, I could gain money to pay off college while I'm attending to get a proper education needed to gain my degree in early childhood education.

Can you get a scholarship with a 1.9 GPA?

Scholarships are often determined based on more than just your GPA. With that said, usually a 2.0 GPA is required to be eligible for most scholarships. There is a chance you may receive a scholarship if you have a lot of involvement in your school, or if perhaps your circumstances are extraordinary. I would suggest doing whatever you can to raise your GPA if possible. Definitely talk with your school counselor, and search online scholarship databases to see what different scholarship criterias may be. There are a ton of scholarships out there for the taking, but having at least a 2.0 is probably necessary to receive any of them.

What colleges offer full ride scholarships to National Achievement Finalists?

Bryant & Stratton has a scholarship that awards ten full ride scholarships:

Bryant & Stratton College Online announced its new Pay it Forward Scholarship program, a program that will award a total of ten full-tuition scholarships for online associate's degree programs at Bryant & Stratton College, as well as five $5,000 scholarships to the remaining finalists. The program recognizes and rewards recipients who are not only interested in improving their lives with education, but who also want to "pay it forward" to someone else. Scholarship recipients will be able to award their second scholarship to a friend, family member, colleague or even a community organization, which could then award the scholarship to a deserving individual.

How do most students finance their undergraduate study programs at universities?

In the UK, we have EMA, a payment of £30 a week for any child aged 16-19 attending full time education whose parent's/guardian's income falls below the threshold. Also think about working a part time job such as McDonalds (you'd be surprised at the amount of study leave they will give staff) or other retail/food/hotel etc, there are usually plenty of jobs around in the summer, so it may be possible for a 15/16 year old to get one, bear in mind that 15 year olds can only work a certain amount of hours per week. See direct.gov.uk for more info (they have a huge section on school leavers)

In the US, you would be best to get a part time job to help fund study.

Find Specific Scholarships?

The easiest way is just to apply for scholarships at the college you plan to attend. Several governments offer scholarships for students wishing to study in the United States or elsewhere. Recent governments to provide these scholarships are the governments of Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

If you wish to study in the United States, there are several resources that you may use that are more reliable than private websites. EducationUSA provides scholarship information to students that seek their services. You may find the EducationUSA website here: http://eca.state.gov/educationusa/centers/ . You may link to an educational adviser in your country for the best information.
