How do you make your voice better at singing?
I personally love to sing and get compliments on my singing all the time. Here are some very easy things you can do to enhance your singing:
- You should only drink room temperature water. Cold water is bad for your voice. Now, this may sound unappealing at first, but trust me, it will help.
- Whenever you are about to sing to warm-ups. Think about your selection. in your warm-up, make sure you reach higher and lower than the highest or lowest points in the song. If you can reach that high, or go that low, you will sound all the more strong in you song.
- Alway stand when you sing. This will open up your airways and give you a richer tone of voice.
- And lastly, BE CONFIDENT! If you are shy, quiet, or unsure it will come across in your singing. A confident not-so-great singer is better than a unsure, second-guessing, great singer!
I hope I helped! Good luck! You're gonna sound great!

How do you stop your voice from straining when singing?
You've already discerned that you're doing something wrong - and you are correct. Continuing to sing when it feels like you are "straining your voice" will ruin it. You really need to work with a good voice teacher. They can give you (specifically "you" - it differs from one person to another) many techniques to eliminate this insidious habit. Find a voice teacher - you'll never regret it.
