What caused the disaster at chernobyl in 1986?
The disaster was caused by multiple flaws in the reactor design and multiple operator errors when running a poorly planned test (that required intentional disabling of the emergency cooling system, a very bad idea forbidden in the official procedures) with improperly documented and unapproved changes to its procedure, on the reactor. It caused the reactor to enter an unstable and difficult to control state (which official procedures forbade operating in). When the operators finally pressed the SCRAM button to initiate a full shutdown design errors in the control rods instead caused a very large power surge. This power surge caused a steam explosion which destroyed the reactor, blasted a hole in the roof exposing the hot graphite to air which caused it to ignite. The people of russia were not properly informed of the dangers of nuclear radiation the government chose to do this because they believed their reactors were fool proof and decided the less knowledge people had the better for security. Unfortunately that left a whole staff at the reactor very unprepared when the accident happened.

If it is a simple letter, then yes... about a week. Packages are another story though, depending on the size and weight. 4-6 weeks is the norm. I live in Ukraine and my mother sends me multiple packages at a time from Michigan. They always arrive at different times- usually the heavier ones are 1-2 weeks later than the lighter parcels. Priority mail is more expensive, but will speed things up. (My last priority box showed up almost 2 weeks before the others) But it is much more expensive. It also depends on the time of year. If there is a heavy snowfall in Ukraine, post offices will shut down and it can delay things. Ukraine is a good place to visit because of many reasons. First of all, Ukraine played a huge role in the European history. Scenific Kyiv with all its historical monuments and huge cathedrals, Lviv - the center of Ukrainian culture, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, the oldest city in Ukraine with all its old buidings and historical monuments, magnificent and a very famous touristic place, Odesa - the city on the coast of Black Sea, very old and beautiful, Kharkov - the second largest city, where you can see architectural monuments wich belong to all of main periods of Ukrainian history for last 3,5 centuries, the Carpatian and Crimean mountains - very famous place among tourists, well known fot low prices, very clear air and mineral waters. About mineral waters, there are many very cheap places on the West to be treated with mineral waters and healing nature, the beaches of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov are very warm, beautiful and famous, you should not miss the opportunity to go there. The ukrainian villages are very different and unique, there is what to look at. The third reason why it is good to visit Ukraine is to feel the pleasant culture shock because the way ukrainians live is way different from the way of life of other countries, even the smallest things are very exciting. People are well known for hospitality and generousy, ot is a part of history and culture. Ukrainian girls are known for their beauty (it is really true).
I want to admit that the prices in Ukraine are surpisingly very and very low, the country is not developed economically well yet but it is very good for a foreign tourist.
Ukrainian language is the second most melodic language in the worls after Italian, you should hear it and you should celebrate with ukrainians their holidays, and trust me, YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IF YOU VISIT UKRAINE.
