Is there lead in flatware made in Vietnam?
Yes. Definetly. I don't believe it is tested in most of the silverware sold in the United States. I did however find a knife filet set which was made in china. This knife set actually had "contains lead which is known to cause birth defects in the state of California." in very small print on the back of the package. I believe the chinese use higher concentrations of lead in their industrial process to produce stainless steel. It is cheaper and they can make more money. In addition, they can also poison us and decrease the intelligence of future generations in the USA. It's just an added bonus for them. I couldn't help the sarcasm -actually it's very sad but nevertheless true. The BIG question here is WHY are we letting them poision us and our future? The lead is present in everything from children's toys, to lipstick, silverware, to purses (as recently reported). Has anyone looked at the food we are importing from China?
