As A Networking Administrator what are the daily responsibilities in Active Directory Services?
Active Directory contains information about the resources of a domain, usually available via a network. Therefore the duties and responsibilities would be for creation and maintenance of passwords, group policies of the domain, group membership of users, and other duties of that nature.

What is multiple-master replication?
Single-master replication can make it difficult for administrators to manage Active Directory objects, especially if they are located in remote offices and must work over a slow wide area network (WAN) link. To address this problem, Active Directory uses multiple-master replication, in which it is possible to make changes to domain objects on any domain controller, which replicates those changes to all of the other domain controllers.
What is a PasswordSettingsObject within an Active Directory also known as?

People do sports to get fit and busty so they can attract the opposite sex and go out with them

Before you complete this procedure, one needs to verify that this aprticular domain controller is not the only global catalog and that it does not hold any operations master role
reboot the PC it becomes member server
Is it cost effective for a backup domain controller?
That depends entirely on the business model of the domain. The point of a BDC is to eliminate down time, and in smaller companies or companies that do not rely heavily on their computer network, downtime is not an issue and the extra cost involved with the BDC does not outweigh its usage.

What is a read only domain controller Or RODC?
One of the new features receiving close attention in Windows 2008 is a new breed of domain controllers referred to as Read-Only Domain Controllers, also known as RODCs. The RODC hosts a copy of the Active Directory (AD) database like any other writable domain controller, but as its name implies, the contents replica of the domain database residing on the domain controller is read-only and write operations are not supported. It is equally important to mention that the RODCs do not participate in Active directory replication in the same fashion as writable domain controllers. The fundamental difference between RODC replication and the typical multimaster replication model between writable domain controllers is that RODCs replication is unidirectional. This means all changes from a writable domain controller are propagated to the RODCs. As a result, the RODC receives changes, but does not partake in or perform outbound replication with other domain controllers.
Read-only domain controllers (RODCs) in Active Directory, intended for use in branch office or other scenarios where a domain controller may reside in a low physical security environment. The RODC holds a non-writeable copy of Active Directory, and redirects all write attempts to a Full Domain Controller. It replicates all accounts except sensitive ones.In RODC mode, credentials are not cached by default. Moreover, only the replication partner of the RODC needs to run Windows Server 2008. Also, local administrators can log on to the machine to perform maintenance tasks without requiring administrative rights on the domain.
The DNS Server Role and the active directory is not installed till the adds service is started on the server 2008.if the service is not started(one needs to check the option under roles of the server)the active directory installation wont happen.this feature is only in 2008 not in 2003.The active directory works as service in 2008
