I have been prescribed 10mg adderall 2x a day recently, and I also get prescribed 7.5mg of percocet 4x a day. In my experience, my daughter's night wetting stopped almost completely when taking adderall. She stopped taking the meds during the summer & the bed wetting returned. I am a Registered Nurse. I would not recommend taking Adderall with dietary supplements unless you check with your doctor. Some of your supplements may cause an unsafe increase in heart rate and/or blood pressure. Definitely do no take Adderall with any appetite suppressants unless you discuss this with your doctor.

Answer: Yes, you can. However you need to first talk to your doctor concerning the risks and benefits of taking both. I can tell you of some risks, though. Tramadol HCL(brand name :Ultram )has been shown to cause opiod-dependency although not as likely as with other opiods. Dependence usually occurs with higher dosage and long-term use. You should be informed that the withdrawal symptoms of this drug are extremely uncomfortable. Most people have feelings of depression or even suicide. If you do become dependent of your Ultram (which is1/6 morphine, I might add) than please do not take it with Adderal because this can be a dangerous combination. Adderall has an even greater risk of dependence and some of the same withdrawal effects. If you are taking a safe or correct dosage of both of these medications under the guidance of you doctor than you should be fine. Its when you get dependent on these types of drugs that things get ugly.

There is a contraindiction between Adderall and Celexa, meaning they should NOT be taken together UNLESS you are under the supervision of a physician.

Celexa is in a class of drugs called SSRIs, or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors. Serotonin is a type of chemical called a neurotransmitter and it functions to help pass signals between nerves. Celexa operates by keeping the nerves from taking the serotonin back up as quickly, so more stays between the nerves, helping to stimulate them.

Adderall is an amphetamine and effects the levels of several neurotransmitters. While its primary effect is on dopamine and norepinephrine, it also effects serotonin levels.

Combining these two medications is fairly common and while it's NOT likely, mixing the two can (rarely) lead to a severe, potentially fatal, condition called Serotonin Syndrome (sometimes called Serotonin Toxicity or Serotonin Storm).

The primary treatment for Serotonin Syndrome is stopping usage of the drugs that triggered it, followed by administration of a serotonin antagonist such as Periactin (cyproheptadine). Once it starts, it has to run its course. It can cause all sorts of conditions with tachycardia (fast heart rate) being the mildest, but it can also cause kidney failure, seizures, metabolic acidosis and other life threatening conditions.

The length of time on a medication/drug which may cause tolerance and dependence is relative to the dose and the regularity with which the drug is taken.

For instance, a patient might be prescribed clonazepam 0.5 mg daily when anxious and end up using it two or three times per week. On this basis, a lifetime of use would not be too long.

However, if clonazepam is used at the level of 2 mg three times per day, every day, then tolerance and dependence could occur after just a few weeks.

I don't know if you'll have to make a new full appointment every time, but in the entire United States, all ADHD medications are Schedule II, which means they cannot be prescribed by phone, cannot have refills, nothing -- the *only* way to get them is a paper prescription, which in addition must have security features such as a watermark, etc.

It is the same way with OxyContin, Morphine and other high strength pain medications.
