I take 30 mg of Adderall XR daily (except weekends). I've been taking 5htp as well to stabilize my moods. I haven't had any problems and I feel like I have been sleeping better in addition to having more stable moods. I noticed that I was becoming easily aggravated, angry and had almost no patience. I take 200mg of 5htp every day in the morning, with my multi and my Adderall and I haven't noticed any negative side effects. I've only been doing this for about two weeks however. I am unsure of the long term effects.

You sure enough can. In fact, this morning I took 30mg vyvanse(roughly 12.5 mg adderall) and 9 and a half hours later I took 37.5 mg hydrocodone. Im feeling good on the hydros right now. Even though adderall is CNS stimulate and hydrocodone is a CNS depressant, they each work in a different way and on different receptors so there is no harm with taking them together or hours apart.

That depends on what you mean by okay. Wellbutrin amplifies the effects of alcohol, particularly if you've just started taking it. If you want to have a drink and need to drive somewhere afterwards, it's probably a bad idea. If you're looking to get drunk, then it's actually helpful.

Answer: Concerta and Adderall aren't very much different at all, except Adderall is more effective and Concerta has less side effects. They both are dopamine reuptake inhibitors. Adderal just seems to be more potent. Concerta is less addictive as well. hope this helps, Megan.******

Caffeine & adderall have a synergistic effect when combined and the effects of both chemicals will be significantly emphasized. The addition of coffee with the adderall will definitely increase Adderall's effects of wakefulness, mood elevation, alertness, etc. But as great as that sounds, caffeine also potentiates the negative side effects of adderall, such as nervousness, insomnia, irritability, palpitations, rapid heart beat, dysphoria, etc. In fact, the combination of the 2 may exacerbate the negative side effects to such a point that the adderall's positive effects are diminished. Also, anyone with anxiety issues may want to stay away from the combination of the two since it will increase his or her anxiety. The 2 together can induce panic attacks in susceptible individuals. But honestly, from personal experience, a cup of coffee in the morning with adderall is OK but anymore than that and I tend to experience too many negative effects and actually LOSE focus on tasks rather than gain focus. As someone with anxiety issues, I am really careful about my caffeine intake the rest of the day (as in no more for me the rest day:) )

With all that said, if you are going to combine coffee and adderall together, start with 1/2 a cup and wait an hour and see how it makes you feel. If you are nervous and jittery and anxious, then perhaps you should not combine the 2. Just start slow and see if it works OK for you. I know people that can drink all the caffeine they want on their adderall and are just fine and then I know others that can not have any caffeine at all. Just be smart about it:)

I currently take 80mg straterra, 70mg vyvanse (a speed-derived drug like adderall), and 10mg lexapro (an ssri like paxil, luvox, etc) and it is working great!

before I started vyvanse, I was taking straterra with lexapro and adderall: about 40 mg of adderall daily.

taking too much adderall caused me to be very anxious, self-conscious, and almost paranoid. when I reduced adderall to about 20 mg/day, as well as when I switched over to vyvanse, things smoothed out much better.

i should add that I was smoking a decent amount of medical marijuana at for most of this period too, which probably increased the paranoia....

Adderall XR comes in multiple dosage forms, and usually these are easily transcribed to IR or visa versa. However, 20 mg. of IR 3x daily does not have an equivalent XR dosage for the triple daily dose. The manufacturer offers Adderall XR 30 mg. capsules, which would mean you would take the full 60 mg dose (2 capsules) all in the morning. It would end up being equivalent to taking two 30mg dosages of IR, rather than 3x 20 mgs daily. If you feel that the 3x 20 mg. daily dosing of IR is too important, you might want to just stay on that version. You can always talk to your doc and see whats available.
