Definately not.. however if you take adderall and quit taking the adderall a week before the test (to allow the amphetamines to clear out of your system) then your ability to eliminate THC would increase due to it's stimulant effect.. Although i advise against doing this.. a lot of exercise would do just the same..

Our son weighs around 95 pounds and started out on 40, then 60 mg, this did not seem to work. Dr is now saying to try 80 mg. We don't know what to do either. Dr says 80 is not too much for him. You are not alone in this, even though we feel like we are sometimes.

My son, age 10 weighed 96# when he started on stratera. He now weighs 90# (side effect) and the maximum dose he was ever on was 25 mg. (started at 10mg., went to 18mg. and stopped titrating at 25mg. due to extremely positive impact) His doc. was planning on going to 40mg. but saw no need due to positive impact on ODD symptoms. On the other hand, my friend has a daughter who weighs the same amount and is on 120mg. (80 at night, 40 in AM). Based on my experience, 60mg. is a moderate dose and 120 is the legal max.

I'm finding I'm learning more from "users" or parents of children that use than I do from the doctors. I agree about taking him off on weekends is a disaster. I think we're beginning to see the key to making this work. Since we've kept it continuous, we've significantly lessened the mood swings, hair pulling, etc. Also, from another posting on this website I learned that taking peanut butter before each pill eliminates the stomach aches. That's a miracle solution for us!

Our son is 12 and about 95 lbs. He has been on a 60 mg dose of Strattera about six months and is doing well. He was originally on a 40 mg dose and it had almost no effect. This medication has been far superior to the stimulants for him, and his school work has improved. He seems more "normal" on it than on the stimulants where he would have the rebound effect and act horribly at night. We took him off of the Strattera on his vacation in December and it was a big mistake. I don't think you can just use Strattera like the stimulants, stopping them on weekends and vacations. I don't think 60 mg is too high at all, and his side effects are limited to occasional heartburn.

How young are you talking about? My daughter is ADHD and has been on meds since she was 6 yrs old. She's been on Stattera since September 2003. Started her out on 40 mg in the morning and 40 mg in the evening. Now she's up to 60mg in the am & 40 at night. That's 100 mg!!! She is now 14 yrs old. Only side effect she has had is the heartburn. She takes Nexium for that.

My son has been on every kind of ADHD meds. He on strattera 60mg one time a day. he weights 79#, he 10. with him we been through everything mood swings, hitting, bitting, you name it he did it.I find that if he on a routine everyday things go much smoother, he also take risperdal 0.5mg that's a antipsychotic agent for the volent outburst. If you think that ur child is on to high of a dose than talk to ur Dr. only you know what going on with ur child on the meds. talk to your child about how they feel on the meds,I found that my son will tell me if he on to high of a dose. Only you and your child can get the dose where it should be at.

I am a Registered Nurse who works in an Emergency Department where we frequently test for illicit drugs. Urine toxicology screens discern Adderall from methamphetamines. There is a rarely used ADHD medication that would test positive as meth, but it is not Adderall.

It depends when you take it. If you take whole 30 in am you will sleep fine. I usually break it in half and take half in am and half at noon and I am fine. It also depends on how long you have been taking it and how your body reacts to it. Hope that helps

You can not become immune to it but your body WILL build up a tolerance As the above answer indicates, "immune" is not the right word for describing this. As stated above, your brain (as opposed to other systems in your body) will develop a tolerance to it. This means, even though you keep taking the same dose, the effectiveness of Adderall will decrease. Describing it as simply as I can, what actually happens is this. Adderall increases the level of two neurotransmitters in the brain--norephinephrine and dopamine. Neurotransmitters are the substances by which neurons communicate. They are released by one neuron and then attach to a receptor on a second neuron. Generally speaking, each neurotransmitter has its own receptor to which other substances will not attach. The tolerance to Adderall is caused because the brain actually keeps creating more dopamine and noepinephrine receptor sites on the second neuron. As more receptor sites are created, more dopamine and norephinephrine is needed to attach to those sites in order to produce the same effect as before.

If you have scripts for them, there really shouldn't be a problem unless the pharmacist voices concerns. In that case, you can have the doctor who prescribed it call in and say fill er up.

yes you can, i am prescribed 15mg adderall xr and my obgyn prescribed me cipro 500mg. I asked my pharmacist to make sure i could take them together or if i should wait a little while after i took the adderall to take the cipro and he said that it is ok to take them together.

Yes, at least for me, it turns out that this drug is most similar to cocaine. Envolving the same type of high. (euphoria,hyperactivity) it is a lot of fun. im not gunna lie and i only did 20mg of it at once. (snorting). but alot of ppl talk about doing up to 65mg. at once.

There can be side effects associated with this combination; this usually occurs when one or the other is removed or started. (in the realm of motor movements--known as dyskinesias). Folks on a stable combination don't usually have this problem. This problem particular problem goes away once doses are adjusted. Most folks don't experience this particular side effect.

I live in UT and the street value of this drug is anywhere from $15-$30. I wouldn't pay more than $25 or you'll be getting ripped off.

The old hair test aye, unfortunately this is the hardest test to pass because your hair holds literally everything and can tell them literally everything you've taken. Only taking it once though means it won't be too badly tainted with the residue of the amphetamine, which is out of your body in a matter of days. If I were you though I would rather be safe, then sorry and use should use a clarifying shampoo regularly to remove toxins that are excreted daily from scalp. Good Luck!

I'm not sure what the real answer to this question is, but from personal experience I can tell you that I went 5 days and was perfectly focused. Towards the end of the 5th day my brain started crashing, weirdest experience of my life. My brain would turn off however my body would not. I would "fall asleep" randomly however the rest of my body was still in the same position when i "awoke," my head did not even bow down, it was in the same position. I also did not take good care of my body during those 5 days, I was only averaging one meal a day and almost no water intake. I'm sure if you took good care of your body then you would be able to pull another day or two more.(6-7 days)

The effect has to do with the inherent stimulant properties in the drug. When Adderall or other amphetamine-based drugs hits the pleasure center in your brain, it releases a level of dopamine many many times higher than normal, which raises blood temperature, pressure, and enables the body and mind to perform well beyond its normal capacity. In higher doses, it prolongs the body's endurance and pushes it beyond its normal threshold. If you are taking more than your prescribed dosage, that is too much. Adderall is an extremely addictive and physically debilitating drug.

For people who genuinely need Adderall, such as those who suffer from ADHD, the drug can be the only thing standing between them and a normal life. However, if you do NOT suffer from ADHD, Adderall affects you much differently. You can quickly become dependent on the High and the physical effects are devastating (heart attack, stroke, sudden death, discoloration of the skin, mouth sores, swollen extremities, insomnia, anorexia, etc.) They are also not easy to hide! The onset of addiction is extremely fast and can occur within only a few uses. The physical effects begin with your first use.

That being said, I am an athletic, 21 year old male taking 50mg of Adderall XR daily. I could probably take more, but 50mg works perfectly fine for me. You should consult with your doctor about the correct dosage for you and you should follow his instructions. Nothing is guaranteed when you're dealing with Amphetamines.

And if you are using Adderall illicitly, or considering it, I beg you to reconsider! The boost in confidence and motivation you feel from using this drug is strong, yet inevitably does not last forever. Once you gain a tolerance for this drug, it will own you. The positive effects slowly give in to the negative. Eventually you will be taking the drug only to keep from feeling the pain this drug can cause. I have seen too many friends turn into husks of their former selves because of this drug, and most still have not recovered completely. Sorry for ranting.
