What makes your hair grow fast?

A good multi-vitamin will give your hair amazing texture and a glossy look. To make your hair grow faster you should massage your scalp for about 10 minutes at least once a day. By doing this you will increase stimulation which will result in faster hair growth. Oh, and cutting the ends of your hair every few weeks doesn''t hurt either. :)

Yeah, cut off the split ends, massage scalp, apply coconut oil (I recommend) 3x a week and sleep with it in overnight. Then when you wash it out in the morning, soak your hair with almost ice cold water and it'll strengthen the cuticles so your hair doesn't fall out when you brush it.

How do you micro braid?

you put one piece over the other as if doing a regular braid.

take three small pieces of hair, and do a normal braid. Switch the left hand piece with the middle, then the right hand piece with the middle (that used to be the left). Repeat until you are half way through the natural hair and extensions being used. Upon reaching your desired amount of coverage (meaning the amount of hair you want in the braid and the amount you want hanging), the suggested amount of coverage is after your natural hair ends. Then knot it off with a slip knot and move on to the next braid.

How much would it cost to open a salon?

Well, professionally speaking, and from experience, it costed me $650,000 to buy a 20 privatebooth hair salon. Then again, you add the remodeling and monthly fees, so it reallywas for me$580,000. I fixed it up a lot, too.My best friend from beauty school actually bought a spa that costed $540,000 but it was huge. Her spa had massages, mud bathes, nails, skintreatment, jacuzzis etc.It also depends upon where you live, what you want it to look like, your budget, and so on. It really was expensive, butI know some people who built theirs for over a million dollars but with the added hair and spa. If you prefer like a 10 non-private booth salon and a basic health spa, I saw one up for $380,000 total.

So, if you want a 20 private booth hair salon and spa with advanced amendities, then it will be close to a million dollars. If you wanted like 10 private booths and spa, it would be about $400,000. If you want to build, look on your highest price range.

Will kinky twist turn into dreadlocks?

For the most part they won't a lot depends on the size you get...the type of hair you you and if you are able to keep them moisterized....keeping hem moisturized is the key. The most important thing to do is NOT apply to much tension to the hair being twisted. When twists are too tight, then can pull the scalp and cause small bumps that could later turn into temporary hair loss. It can also make the scalp red, itchy and sore, if too tight.

How do you fix over conditioned hair?

Does your hair look like you've stuck your finger in an electrical outlet? Do you have frizziness, split ends and breakage that you just can't seem to get a handle on? I know how frustrating this problem can be. Whether you've had your hair relaxed, dyed it too much, bleached the you-know-what out of it or it's just suffering from a severe case of heat exhaustion, there are options that can help.

First of all, it's important to understand what your hair is going through. Harsh chemicals, heat from styling tools, and many other factors can cause your hair to dry out and become unruly. So, let's go over some basic ground rules for damaged hair. Remember that wet hair is most easily damaged, and it breaks much more easily than dry hair. Running a brush through wet hair can cause breakage that falls beyond repair. If your hair is damaged, purchase a wide toothed comb to detangle your wet hair after you shower. The wide teeth will prevent your hair from being pulled too hard, as it would be with a regular brush, therefore causing less damage. Next, for dry hair, invest in a soft bristled "baby" brush to smooth your hair, as these brushed disperse natural scalp oils into the hair follicles. This coats the dry hair and can make it look shinier and healthier. Also, remember that with dry, unruly hair, daily shampooing is often not required. If you feel like you need to shower daily, try rinsing your hair with warm water, and then applying a light conditioner. Shampooing too often can irritate the scalp and wash away helpful, natural oils. Sometimes, a rinse is all you really need.

Many cosmetologists argue that conditioners high in silicones are bad for damaged hair because they only mimic what healthy, supple hair would be like by coating damaged hair follicles in silicone. This makes the hair appear to be shinier, have more natural movement and feel softer to the touch. The truth is that damaged hair cannot truly be repaired. We can make it look healthier until more new hair grows in, but it can't be returned to it's original state. There are protein treatments that can deposit proteins directly onto the damaged follicles, but even these do not "cure" problem hair. They too can make it softer and more manageable, but the only way the hair will be restored is to cut it off and what for it to grow back.

One treatment, I've found, is a true miracle for distressed hair. Ion's "Emergency Hair Repair Kit" is something almost from heaven. Three tiny bottles of magic, is what I like to call it. You can find it at beauty supply stores that sell professional products. It costs under ten dollars, and depending on the length and texture of your hair, you can obtain up to four uses per box. It utilizes restructuring proteins, silicones and other ingredients that will leave your hair feeling silky and soft. The box, which is a triangle in shape, contains three one-fluid-ounce bottles. Step One is the Volumizer, Step Two is the Repair serum, and Step Three is the Moisture serum. Use this product while you are taking a shower, one to two times per week. After wetting your hair, apply one third of the Step One Volumizer (Watch out, it's a thin liquid) to your hair. Rub it in gently, and do not rinse. Secondly, apply the Step Two Repair serum over the top of the Volumizer. Saturate your hair, and a thin, watery lather will form. Lather your hair very gently and leave the product in for up to five minutes. (Just enough time to shave your legs!) Next, rinse the product out of your hair. Apply one third of the Step Three Moisturizing serum as you would a conditioner. Leave in for three to five minutes. Rinse thoroughly, and apply your regular conditioner afterwards, if you wish. That's all there is to it- and you will immediately notice healthier, more supple hair.

When styling and drying your hair, remember that using the low heat setting on your blow dryer is your best choice. Yes, it takes awhile, but the results you will achieve will be worth it. When using straighteners, curling irons, or hot rollers, remember also to use these on a low heat setting. Leave them in a bit longer and you should be able to achieve the same results that you did on a high setting. This will spare your hair the drying effects of heat where they need help the most: at the ends.

A healthy, more manageable mane is possible with the right products and precautions. Just remember to keep all of your heat setting on low, don't shampoo too often, condition on a regular basis and apply specialty products, such as the Ion Emergency Hair Repair Kit, if needed.

Why is it important to thoroughly rinse the hair to remove shampoo and coniditioner at the end of the survice?

Because their will be build up of products on the hair so if you blow dry it then it will smoke and if you try to curl it the conditioner will act as a barrier and you will be wasting your time.

How do you grow an afro in a short time?

  1. Be able to actually grow an afro on your own; which means no chemicals or curlers involved or it wouldn't be natural.
  2. If you're using chemicals or tools to straighten out your hair, cease doing this so that your hair can grow out it's natural roots and have back it's natural curl. If you have extensions/weaved in hair, and such, have this also undone so that your afro can grow properly without tangle or damage.
  3. If you have any braided or plaited styles, undo them to be able to wash, condition, comb out, manage, your afro when you need to.
  4. Continue to wash and condition your hair like regularly making sure it's never left dry as the afro grows in, but that doesn't mean you have to moisturize it every minute or hour or so (that's not always convenient or necessary). Just keep it conditioned so that it's easy to manage and comb whenever you need to.
  5. Comb it out in sections when moist/conditioned, and be sure to wrap it or even braid/plait it before going to bed; this helps with keeping breakage and matting at a minimal.
  6. Understand that not everyone has the same type curl in their afro so some may be tighter than others.

How long will it take for a fade haircut to grow past shoulder length on a black man?

In answer to your question, it varies based upon a number of different factors. I would say that Genetics, proper Hair Care, Exercise, Diet and using very little heat contribute to how long a woman's hair grows regardless of her ethnicity. If a Black woman has very short to medium-short hair perhaps about two years with of course proper Hair Care, Exercise, using very little heat and Diet. WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Ladies, please know that it is possible to grow healthy shoulder-length hair if you are Black. Ciao! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If your completely bald it would take about 2 years for the shortest layer to reach the shoulders. The longest layer would probably be mid-back length by then. Two years on average equals 12 inches of growth. That's the technical answer. In reality because most black women don't know how to properly care for their hair the anwer could very well be "Never." or "A very long time." In my opion most black woman have the potnetial to grow hair to their waist with proper care.

Can white girls pull off the dreadlocks look?

Anyone can wear their hair in a certain way, if they have the style and confidence to pull it off. This look is not for everyone, and dreadlocks are high maintenance, but some say that Christina Aguilera pulled it off well. Casey Niccoli, former girlfriend of Perry Farrell, also wore dreadlocks well. If you want to watch an interesting documentary about people of all colors who have dreadlocks, try "Dreadheads: Portrait of a Subculture."

How do you make an afro curly?

Starting with Straight Hair: 1. Wash and dry your hair. 2. Try a mousse or volumizing cream made for heat if you want to add more texture to your hair. 3. Use a curling iron or curlers to curl your hair. The smaller the curl the better, so use the smallest curling iron you have or the tiniest curlers for the best results. 4. Once your hair is curled, flip your head upside down and spray it with hairspray. Let the hairspray dry before proceeding to styling. Starting with Curly Hair: 1. Wash and dry your hair. 2. Apply a little almond, jojoba, or other oil or cream to your hair for texture and shine. 3. Comb hair a bit with a wide toothed comb and let it air dry. Turning Curls into an Afro with Heat: 1. Blow dry hair on the coolest setting to blow out the waves and curls. 2. Gently comb with a wide toothed comb. 3. Focus on the ends of the hair to shape the afro. If you have straight hair, tease the ends a bit to get them to hold the shape of the afro. 4. Run your fingers through your hair to finish styling, and pat your hair into place with your hands. Turning Curls into an Afro without Heat: 1. Comb curls and waves out with a wide toothed comb. Use a comb one size smaller for further curl separation. 2. When the hair is mostly dry comb it with fingers and pat it into an afro. 3. Set with hairspray if you have straight hair. Afro Styling Tips: 1. Consider using a pick to shape your afro. Instead of shaping it into a dome, pick it out on the sides and make it look like a retro a 50's style pompadour. 2. Use oil in your hair to help increase the shine of your afro, but do not use creams that will flake once they are dry. Your afro and your clothes will be covered in white if you choose to put the wrong styling product on your hair before styling an afro. 3. Braid a piece of hair when you style your hair in an afro to show how long your hair is. The afro is a hair style that can fool the eye and make you look like you have much shorter hair than usual.
