for most guns they are just for decoration...an airsoft rifle is a 1 : 1 replica of the real deal...when you say charging handle I am assuming you are reffering to an M4/M16 varraiant. the charging handle on these models are how you would load the ammunition in to the gun to be fired. (Cocking it) on airsoft for most part it is a non funcionting piece some models by pullint the charging handle lets you access the hop-up. again it all comes down to the brand and make/model of the gun.

No. Honestly, before I started to use it, I also feel worry a lil'bit. I was afraid that it will broke inside the barrel or even decomposing in storage even before I can use it LOL. But that time me and my friends have no choice because that is the only kind of BBs available (In Indonesia we really depend on importers for units, spareparts, gasses, and BBs. What they send in to the market is what we use in the field) . But I've been using bio-degradable BB's for nearly 2 years now and I don't have any problem with it. I use bio-degradable Golden Ball 6mm, 0.25 gr black BBs with my highly modified JG M4S-System, currently in 20-25 rps (rounds per second) and 450-475 fps. Absolutely NO PROBLEM, as long as you use good quality bio-degradable BBs. It will not broke inside your barrel and will only decomposing in a specific conditions (i.e leave on a damp/wet soil for days). Beside, bio-degradable is good for nature.

i had both a spring pump and electric and the spring pump was stronger. although the electric was more convenient

Best to err on the side of caution - you probably can have the BB's in your luggage, but do not take them onto the plane with you.

"Hop-up" on airsoft guns can be either adjustable, or is already put in the gun. What adjustable hop-up is, is a switch usually on the side of your gun that you can control the amount of backwards spin the bb has when it comes out of the barrel. The more spin backwards, the better, this means the bb is going to fly straighter, farther, and more accurate because when it goes through the air, the backwards spin keeps it floating. I would suggest a gun with adjustable because you can judge your shots. ( by the way, hop-up that is already in the gun means you cant adjust it, it stays how it is)

It is very unlikely to kill someone with an airsoft gun at 500 fps. Normally, you could possibly give them a welt or possibly even pierce their skin(only slightly). You could NOT kill them, but you could give them a severe wound(unless of course, you held the gun like right IN their ear,eye, or even chest area and repeatedly fired rounds, and by repeatedly, like at least 50 shots). Unless you are really cruel and play like that, you cannot kill someone. Remember to wear glasses or goggles and if you're just fooling around in your backyard, your friends probably won't want to play with you if its that powerful. Go for a gun under 400 unless it's a sniper

It depends who makes the magazine and who makes the gun. It should say in the magazine's description (on the website) which guns and which companies it works with. If it doesn't say anywhere just call the company who makes the magazine or the company who makes the gun.

THe most dangerous airsoft gun is probably any of the Systema PTW series if they have the highest power cylinder. With it they can shoot at approximately 700 fps. A highly moded gas sniper rifle may also be able to achieve similar power, but I am not aware of any other airsoft gun that can shoot over 500 fps stock. Also, the Systema PTW has an absurdly high rate of fire, so it can deliver bb after bb. Most people who use these guns us weaker cylinders though, so in an airsoft game you will never have to worry about anything over 500 fps, and most guns will be around, if not lower, than 400 fps.

Airsoft guns are not waterproof. If you have one that is electric it will stop working if it gets to wet. If you have a manual one and it gets wet, it should still work.
