Ness had a big ego & probably wanted to make some money . The real person (s) that brought down Capone were Elmer Irey (Treasury agent) and George E. Q. Johnson (U.S. Attorney).

Shortly after he was expelled, his father moved the family to 21 Garfield Place, in the neighborhood that would influence the direction of Capone's life and ultimately, his future. Capone joined two local street gangs, the Brooklyn Rippers and the Forty Thieves Juniors. Among the members were Johnny Torrio and Lucky Luciano.

Al Capone was the biggest gangster of the 1920s. He was wanted for bootlegging illegal alcohol during prohibition.

i think he is a kind of anti-hero. because, even though he killed many people,he has a self-made man, which is respected in america, and i guess he responded to the public nedds at that time, i mean he provided alcoholic.

Yes he did! It is now called Edwin's, and Jan is the owner & lives upstairs! Talk to her regarding the details! A tunnel used to also run from the bar there, underneath rte. 50 & RR tracks into a farmers cornfield for his escape route! This of course is now blocked!

I've stopped in Edwin's from time to time and have spoken with Jan. I was wondering if anyone had any more info?
