How far will a 22 caliber bullet penetrate into wood?

Depends on WHICH .22 bullet, what it was fired from, what kind of wood, and at what distance. .22 CB caps, fired from a pistol, at 20 ft, will bounce OFF a pine 2x4. A high velocity 40 gr .22 LR, fired from a rifle, will penetrate about 1 inch in the same 2x4.

Can you shoot a gun without ammo?

No, and you can't drive a car with no fuel. A gun is a device to launch ammunition. You can "dry fire" a gun with no ammo, but that is not good for SOME guns.

What is the muzzle velocity of a .45 caliber bullet?

Depends on which .45- 45 Colt, 45 ACP, 45 Magnum, 45-70, and which bullet, and what it is fired from. If you mean the .45 ACP fired by a 1911A1 pistol, velocity varies from 830 FPS up to about 1020 fps. Slow, fat, but gets the job done.

Can a airsoft gun bullet make a hole in the wall?

An airsoft pellet is capable of damaging walls. In most cases, it would be more likely to dent or cause chipping, but all building materials and buildings are not created equal.

What is the bullet drop of a 22 cal long rifle?

There too many variables to give one answer- the drop is not even over distance, since the bullets begin to slow quite a bit at distances greater than 150 yards, It will vary depending on the speed of the bullet- and that varies by make, by bullet weight, and whether fired from a rifle, pistol, or revolver. When zeroed for 100 yards ,the trajectory of the standard high-velocity .22 LR with a 40-grain bullet has a 2.7-inch rise at 50 yards , and 10.8 inches drop at 150 yards .

Can 38 cal ammo be used in a 38 Sp Lady smith?

The current production Ladysmith (by Smith and Wesson) fires .38 Special ammo, and can use any factory .38 Special ammo. Do not confuse the current Ladysmith with a tiny .22 caliber revolver made by S&W years ago.

How do guns eject empty bullet casings?

Many firearms have a mechanism (the extractor) that grabs the rim of a cartridge case (or the extractor groove) that makes the cartridge case move with the bolt when it moves. As the bolt moves to the rear, the fired case is drawn with it. When it is fully withdrawn, part of the mechanism flips the case out of the firearm (ejection). Not all guns have ejectors- top break shotguns may extract the fired shell, but some require you to eject by pulling the fired shell with your fingers.

Are 22 cal short bullets for a 22 cal revolver?

22 shorts can be used in any 22 cal. weapon. however, some 22 rifles require long or long rifle 22 bullets.

AA: Normally you use 22 shorts in a 22 cal revolver. 22 shorts use pistol powder. It burns much faster than rifle powder. Thus, a 22 short bullet is going as fast as it is going to go after it has travelled about 4 inches. A 22 long or long rifle uses rifle powder. The powder burns slower. It has finished burning when the bullet is about 20 inches down the barrel. A 22 long rifle bullet has very little force when shot from a pistol. The powder is still burning long after the bullet slowly left the barrel. So use pistol ammunition for a pistol and rifle ammunition for a rifle.

What bullets does a 22 revolver take?

A .22 revolver takes CARTRIDGES. Which .22 cartridge will depend on what caliber the revolver was made for. A .22 LR can shoot Long Rifle or Short cartridges, and a .22 WMR uses .22 magnum cartridges. They do not interchange. There are a few .22 revolvers that have 2 cylinders, and can shoot either cartridge.

Can you shoot 308 ammo in a 7.62x51 rifle?

Possibly. The commercial .308 Winchester generates higher chamber pressures than military 7.62x51 does, and this may not be advisable practice for all 7.61x51 rifles. If in doubt, inquire with the manufacturer of the rifle before using commercial .308 ammunition.

What kind of bullet does the acr assault rifle shoot?

5.56, and it is supposed to be readily adaptable to accept 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 6.8x43 Remington SPC, and there are rumours that the necessary components for it to be converted to fire the 6.5 Grendel are in the works.

Will a 9mm gun shoot a 380 bullet?

9mm and .380 bullets are the same diameter. In fact, .380 is also called 9mm Kurz(short) or 9x17. However, the caliber commonly called 9mm is 9x19, which means the cases are different size. A .380 cartridge will fall down into the chamber and the firing pin will not reach the primer.

So, a .380 bullet can be fired from a 9mm gun if it were loaded into a 9mm case. A .380 cartridge would fail to fire in a 9mm gun.
