Well, you can't actually change your native fruit but you can cut down trees and plant trees which grow other fruits! How: Shake one of your fruit trees and pick up a fruit, then, buy a pack of 4 letters from Tom Nook's store. Write the letter to any of your town's residents BUT include the word fruit. Then, open your inventory and drag the fruit to the blue letter. You'll know when you've done it, because the blue letter will have a picture of a present beside it. Port the letter, and when the resident replies, it may have a different type of fruit in a present that comes with the letter Plant it, and the 3 the tree bears after that, and after that, and as many times as you want! You can get Apples, Cherrys, Oranges, Coconuts, Pears and Peaches. (That's all I've ever found anyway!)

You can also sell the fruits to Tom Nook, (DONT SELL THE FIRST ONE YOU GET, PLANT IT!!!! How: dig a hole with a shovel, and open your inventory, tap the fruit and select, "Bury" Water the tree every day) If you decide to sel to Tom Nook, The first fruit that was in your town will sell for 100.

Other fruits that you get from residents, or your mom, (I got one in a letter from her saying "Because I think you'd prefer this than anything else this christmas! And because I can't fit a big Hug/Present (varies) Into a letter!) Will sell for 500, so that is an easy way to make bells! Fruits grow back (once picked) the next day. Have fun fruit pickign!
