I believe there are over 7 non-member pets. Some of them are inaccessible or rare.
1) Dark Wolf --- First pet in the game. Largely believed to be a bug or error from AQWorlds coding, for a span of 3 days, the pet was available to non-members as part of a quest from Willow Creek's church elder. This pet is member's only now. This led to this item becoming an ultra-rare, because of the likely fact that it will be members-only forever. This pet was available in beta october 8th (beta stopped at october 10) through october 11
2) Cole --- Released I believe during holiday season (2009 Christmas) For one week only, if you upgraded with an AQworlds upgrade card (found at Walgreens and Target) you would receive this pet for free and forever (if you don't sell).
3) Platinum Dragon --- Only for founders. Very rare and exclusive. Does not mean you have to be member. Costs 1 gold (if you are founder).
4) Armored Platinum Dragon --- Only for founders. released as part of the 2009 way to pay back founder's. Also allowed them to buy back platinum if they sold or lost it. Costs 1 gold. (if you are a founder).
5) Chuckles pet --- received if you bought the Chuckles T-Shirt. Redeem a code once. Then you can get the pet in your achievements(book of lore) page area. You can't use someone else's code IF they haven't used the code. Features a quest to take from the map /join death.
6) Deady or Bootleg Deady (both look the same! but different offers..) --- received if you bought Deady souveniers (teddy bear). To get the pet, read the description for Chuckles pet. Does not have quest.
7) White Chibi Tiger --- released as part of Valentine's Day/Chinese New Year 2010 shop. First AC and nonmember pet. Costs 300 ACs. as of February 15,2010.

Ok, to find a cristalized thingy, Go to pencil puddle. kill the dragon. get the map. Go to dwakel crash site. Go to the door in the next room. click the red button on the boiler. Ecuip the map. Click the map. One co-ordanate will take you to a ship, the other will take you to saloon. Go to saloon. Go into the saloon. Then go to the next room, upstairs, and to room 3. inside J6 and the cristalized thingy will be there. click the cristalized thingy. There you go!
