The Lunar Module Pilot, Edwin "Buzz Aldrin. Jr.

Guion Bluford is an American aerospace engineer and former NASA astronaut. He became the first African American in space on August 30, 1983, as a member of the STS-8 crew aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. Bluford went on to fly on three more space shuttle missions during his career.

Guion Bluford is a former NASA astronaut and the first African American to travel to space. He flew on four Space Shuttle missions between 1983 and 1992, logging a total of 688 hours in space. Bluford also served as a Colonel in the United States Air Force.

The starting salary for a NASA astronaut is around $105,000 per year. This can increase with experience and qualifications. Astronauts also receive benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for career advancement.

Life on the moon is impossible without a space suit because the moon has no atmosphere to provide air for breathing or protection from the harsh environment. The lack of atmosphere also means there is no protection from harmful radiation and extreme temperature fluctuations. Additionally, there is no liquid water on the moon, essential for sustaining life.

Dr. Roberta Bondar is the first Canadian woman astronaut who went up into space on January 22, 1992. She was in space for eight days. She is also a doctor, a photographer, a pilot, a scientist, a spokesperson, an author, and a chancellor.

Astronauts must undergo a gradual reconditioning process upon returning to Earth to readjust to the planet's atmosphere. This may involve physical therapy, controlled exercise, and a monitored diet to help their bodies cope with the effects of gravity and atmospheric change. Rest and hydration are also essential components of the readaptation process.

Sally Ride became an astronaut in 1978 when she was selected by NASA as part of the astronaut class 8. She became the first American woman in space when she flew aboard the space shuttle Challenger on June 18, 1983.

Astronauts ride in spacecraft such as the Space Shuttle, Soyuz capsule, or SpaceX Crew Dragon to travel to and from the International Space Station or other destinations in space. These vehicles are designed to provide a safe and controlled environment for astronauts during their journey.

The three astronauts of Apollo 13 are James Lovell, Jack Swigert and Fred. W. Haise.

The third astronaut in Apollo 11 was Michael Collins. While Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface in the Lunar Module, Collins remained in orbit around the moon in the Command Module.

Astronauts communicate with Earth using radio waves. They utilize communication devices onboard their spacecraft, such as antennas and radios, to transmit signals to ground stations on Earth, which then relay the information to mission control centers. This allows for real-time communication between astronauts in space and their team on the ground.

The International Space Station is used for scientific research, technology development, and international cooperation in space exploration. It serves as a unique microgravity laboratory where astronauts conduct experiments in various fields such as biology, physics, and materials science. Additionally, it serves as a platform for testing systems and technologies for future deep space missions.

The Capcom is the only person who speaks directly to the astronauts on a regular basis. The Capcom is always a member of the astronaut corps, and often has worked as a back-up on the mission. On occasion, others may speak with the astronauts by arrangement. For example, the families, the NASA director, or the President may have short times allocated to pass messages to the astronauts.

The shuttles have the capacity to carry 8 astronauts, but usually only 7 are on each mission. Sometimes the extra seat will be taken by the astronaut being returned to earth from the International Space Station.

If you go into space without a spacesuit, you would experience a rapid drop in pressure, causing your bodily fluids to boil and leading to decompression sickness. You would also be exposed to harmful levels of radiation and extreme temperatures, resulting in rapid hypothermia or hyperthermia. Ultimately, you would not survive for long due to the hostile conditions of space.

Apollo 13 was launched on the 11 April 1970 and returned to earth on the 17th of April.

Answer: Astronauts close their eyes...The International Space Station is equipped with what are basically sleeping bags. They use Velcro fasteners to attach them to a convenient spot on the wall. Astronauts sleep with their arms inside the sleeping bags. Otherwise, they wake up in a "Frankenstein" position due to low gravity. See attached link with pictures from NASA.

As of September 2021, there have been a total of 580 individuals who have traveled to space. Currently, there are six people who have been to space and are still living: Gennady Padalka, Fyodor Yurchikhin, Sergey Krikalev, Oleg Artemyev, Yuri Malenchenko, and Konstantin Kozeyev.

Female astronauts use a funnel-shaped device called a “urine collection device” to urinate in space. This device helps to funnel the urine into a tube that can be connected to the spacecraft's waste management system. Gravity is not present in space so the urine needs to be contained and managed carefully to avoid any potential issues.
