In Catherine Hardwicke's (the director) bedroom -- where all the other candidates for "Edward Cullen" were auditioning. Most auditions are advertised in the magazine 'The Stage.' It can be ordered from newsagents and lots of hopeful auditioners subscribe to it regularly to keep up to date or you can read it online.

It seems as though the production team pick a selection of reasonably accomplished actors and then either audition them or merely interview them. They then pick their favourite.

Normally if you have been told to audition in its information section it shall say where you must go, but if you are thinking of those auditions you see on TV where you show up to a place and get an automatic audition, then I'm afraid it doesn't happen!!!

21st Century Fox bought Uglies about 3 years ago and have not started having auditions yet. My best advice would be to just wait and watch Scott Westerfeld's blog, facebook and twitter for updates on the movie.

I'm pretty sure it's undecided right now. Keep on checking the YTV and the Next Star website and the audition dates will come up eventually. But I did hear a rumor that the Toronto auditions will be on May 31st, 2012.

Auditions are for actors. For modeling, there are castings and go-sees. In Chicago, your best bet is to submit non professional pictures to modeling agencies in Chicago. If they like your look you will be offered a modeling contract. From there your agency will seek out castings and go-sees for you to attend in the hopes of booking modeling work. However, if you don't have an agent, getting access to such castings will be difficult, unless you are a freelance model, which means you act as your own agency and find your own work. Many freelance models find modeling castings through sites like craigslist or online modeling communities.

No, first you sing in front of random people, and they tell you if you're good or bad enough to sing in front of the real judges. (They let some bad singers sing in front of the REAL judges, so they can make the show funny.)

Usually when a director or casting director is auditioning someone, they are looking for what you do with and how well you present your monologue. It makes no difference where it comes from.

Whether you are auditioning for professional or amateur theater, keep it short. Under a minute, about 30 seconds is usually best. This is your product. Make it believable and sell it!

The best way to find auditions and open calls for movies and tv shows is through the app, Actor Genie. It was developed by Heidi Levitt, who is a very well known casting director (just google her and she'll come up EVERYWHERE). This app also gives contact information for many different agents or managers, as well as do's and dont's of the audition room. Any actor who wants to be successful should download this app!! Or you can visit their website (actorgenie.com) or look them up on twitter. Its probably the most reliable way to find casting calls.
