Uncut notes are packaged and issued for a specific niche of the collector market. If what you have is genuine, you may have something of value.

However, the last Australian One Dollar notes were issued in 1982, and there are no documented issues of uncut Australian One Dollar notes in any year.

The original paper Australian One Dollar note issued from 1966 to 1984 had Queen Elizabeth II and the Australian Coat of Arms on the obverse, and various aboriginal designs and motifs on the reverse. The Australian One Dollar note was withdrawn from circulation on the introduction of the gold coloured One Dollar coin in 1984. It has the Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and there are various commemorated events on the reverse side. Such a coin does not exist. The first Australian Penny was minted in 1911.

There is no online price guide that I know of for Australian coins. You could try finding matching coins on eBay.com and see what they sell for there. You could also try checking your local library for a World Coins book.

This is arguably the most common Australian pre-decimal coin - it is very readily available, even in "mint" condition. Dealers buy circulated examples from between 5¢ and 30¢ each, mint examples may bring a few dollars each.

An Australian 1949 bronze Penny (George VI), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $50 AUD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from $0.75 to $12 AUD.

There were 21.412 million minted.

This is a good question and one that requires a much more detailed explanation than can be given here. However, I will simplify my answer as much as possible. If I make any errors, I ask Australia's First People to forgive me - I mean well.

These stories are vitally important to the Aboriginal peoples for many reasons.

1. They are crucial in preserving knowledge essential to survival in Australia's many and varied environments, some of which can at times test the limits of human endurance. Stories detailing the travels of the Dreaming Ancestors act as guides to significant sites including those where water or food can be found in hard times.

2. They preserve the laws laid down by the Ancestors that govern the way people should interact with each other and with the land and the creatures and plants that share it. This is also crucial to survival.

3. The give detailed information about group land boundaries, details set in law in the Dreaming.

4. They are the method by which people determine kinship and "marriage" laws and the way in which food should be shared and apportioned.

5. They are the basis for ceremony.

6. The stories give detailed instructions for travel within the boundaries of a group's land.

7. On another, simpler level, versions of the Dreaming stories teach children why animals and plants grow, behave and live where they do, and they teach what is correct behaviour and what his not.

There were only three years from 1938 to 1963 in which the Australian Florin (Two Shillings) was minted at a Mint other than the Melbourne Mint.

Some 1942, 1943 and 1944 Florins were minted at the San Francisco Mint. There is a very small "S" mintmark between the 9 and the 4 on these coins.

Florins minted in Melbourne during this period have no mintmark.

There is a rare type of $1 (one dollar) Australian coin dated 2000 that is worth significantly more than it's face value - it is referred to as the "Mule" dollar, as the obverse (heads) die used to strike it was designed to strike 10¢ coins only.

Not all 2000-dated Australian $1 coins are like this however - the "mule" can be identified by the thicker rim around the edge of the obverse / heads side.

Values for this coin range from approximately $300 right up to the thousands for one in close to mint condition.

Impossible to say without knowing the note's denomination.

Australian bank notes do not have the year of printing on them. Older notes can be identified by a combination of the serial number and the signatures of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Secretary to the Treasury. From about 1993, the first two digits of the serial number indicate the year of printing, for example, AB 930123456 indicates that the note was printed in 1993. If it is a paper note and has the words "COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA" printed at the top on both sides, it was printed between 1966 and 1974. If it is a paper note and has the word "AUSTRALIA" printed at the top on both sides, it was printed between 1974 and 1994. If it is a polymer note, it was printed between 1994 and present day. To narrow it down any further, you will need to state whose signatures appear on the note as the "Governor Reserve Bank of Australia" and "Secretary to the Treasury". These two signatures change on alternating years, every two years. The Serial Number will help as well.

1930 Penny - 3,000 minted - It is widely considered that the release of this Penny was a mistake.

1925 Penny - 117,000 minted

1946 Penny - 363,000 minted

1931 Penny - 494,000 minted

Beyond that, Pennies were minted in quantities from just under 1 million to over 54 million per year.

British Pennies have been minted for well over 1,000 years, so we will stick with recent history.

Beyond that, Pennies were minted in quantities from about 0.5 million to over 654 million per year.

The fewest general circulation New Zealand Pennies minted in any year are -

1954 Penny - 1,080,000 minted

Beyond that, Pennies were minted in quantities from 2 million to 18 million per year.

The largest current denomination of Australian banknote is the $100 note.

Prior to decimalisation in 1966, the largest ever Australian banknote was the £1,000 note which was first issued in 1914. It was used mostly for transactions between banks and for internal transactions within the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Henry Lawson never appeared on an Australian Ten Pound note, only on the Ten Dollar note issued from 1966 to 1993. Whose signatures are on the note and what is the serial number? Does it have "Commonwealth of Australia" across the top or just "Australia"?

An 1813 Flint Lead Works copper One Penny token, circulated but still in good condition, might fetch anything from £3 to £15 GBP.

A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.

The Australian Penny with the kangaroo on the reverse was first issued in 1938.

There were some "Pattern" coins minted in 1937, but the very few of them that were minted, will all be in museums.

Australia puts famous or historically significant Australian identities on its banknotes.

The original Australian paper Five Dollar note released between 1967 and 1991, had Sir Joseph Banks (Botanist) on the front, and Caroline Chisholm (Philanthropist) on the back.

The first and still current polymer Five Dollar note released between 1992 and 1997, and from 2002 onwards, had Queen Elizabeth II on the front, and a design showing the new and old Parliament Houses in Canberra, ACT on the back.

The second polymer Five Dollar note released as a Commemoration of Federation in 2001, had Sir Henry Parkes (politician) on the front, and Catherine Helen Spence (Writer and Suffragette) on the back.

Australian Sixpences were made from sterling silver from 1910 to 1945 and 50% silver from 1946 to 1963, never from copper although the later issues had a 40% copper content.

It would depend on your defintion of "bulk" but, yes, you should be able to buy them in quantity from a coin dealer if you can afford it.

If you are looking at recovering the silver, save yourself the time, effort and expense. It will probably cost you more to purchase the coins and recover the metals than you are likely to get from selling the coins intact to a collector or dealer.

There is no "MP" mintmark on any Australian Penny.

A 1941 Australian Penny minted in Perth will have a "." after the "Y" in PENNY (Y.), or a "." between the KG (K.G) on the reverse.

A 1941 Australian Penny minted in Melbourne will have no mint mark at all.

The letters HP on the obverse below King Georges head are the initials of the designer, Thomas Humphrey Paget.

The letters KG on the reverse above the kangaroos tail are the initials of the designer, George Kruger Gray.

The small writing in front of the man's head says -

"Governor Reserve Bank of Australia" and "Secretary To The Treasury" each title has the signature of the individual above it.

It goes on to say -

"This Australian note is legal tender throughout Australia and it's territories."

All Australian notes have the same writing. The names of the Governor and the Secretary change periodically.

It also has Banjo Paterson's poem "The Man from Snowy River" in microprint in the left hand side of the box containing the image of Banjo Paterson. The words TEN DOLLARS are microprinted between each line of the poem.

Other than a notable few, it is highly unlikely that a mistruck Australian coin made it into general circulation. What year is the coin? In what way is it mistruck? Check your information and resubmit the question.

An Australia - Sydney Mint 1856 Sovereign, uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $135,000 AUD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from $2,500 to $18,500 AUD.

An Australia - Sydney Mint 1856 Sovereign (Proof), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $400,000 AUD. There is only one known to exist.

The Australian Penny was issued in most years from 1911 to 1964 inclusive.

Depending on their condition, the year they were minted, where they were minted, and any peculiarities of the coin, they could be worth anything from 50 cents to thousands of Dollars.
