A private collector offers your best odds at realizing the best price for such a football, and balls featuring the genuine autographs of the 60's-era Packers are highly sought and appreciated by such collectors. I know many who would be very interested in hearing from you and I'd be happy to put you in touch with a couple. If genuine, your ball would be worth $500 to as much as $750, depending on condition and a number of other variables more related to aesthetic appearance versus authenticity. An absolutely pristine official ball with Vince Lombardi would be worth as much as $1000, and perhaps more. With autographs, a picture is truly worth the proverbial thousand words, and can save alotta time in the authentication, appraisal, and selling process.
AnswerA private collector first. Secondly, eBay. But I don't know about eBay...for something that valuable, you're better off going "local" (see first option). OR, if you _do_ chose eBay, or even Craigslist, opt for "local only" or "pick up only" in the ad, which basically means you will not "ship" the ball. By leaving the United States Postal Service, FedEx, etc. out of the loop, it leaves out the possibility of the ball getting damaged, or the buyer "claiming" it was damaged in shipment, but truly wasn't, etc. that sort of thing. What is the value of Enos Slaughter autographed picture?
A Enos Slaughter signed photo is worth between $35.-$45. Price will vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Photo composition, and appeal will effect the price as well. Part of the value will be determined by how well the photo displays the signature. The type of ink used, and how it stands out in contrast to the photograph will also effect the price. Sharpie would be most preferred for a photo. Larger and more desired pictures could sell for more. If the signatures are not properly authenticated the photo could sell at half the market value or less.

What is the value of a Eminem autograph?
11-27-2007 TUES AFTERNOON
Dear Fans,
Hello .... I have been collecting autographs since 1959 ...... I started right after Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens died ... along with Roger Peterson the Pilot.
OK, an autograph of Hulk Hogan. Early signatures of him signed with "different names" he used --- don't pull in alot but are very collectiable .. meaning people like myself collect all variations of someone's signature.
With celebrities now charging and/or getting paid/or having agents - Hogan's autograph has gone up.
His gladly signed for me and my son while wrestling here in San Diego.
In the mid 1980's a 3x5 card (most common way to collect: signatures) - would go for $10.00 to $35.00. It depended on how long you had to wait.
Hogan has always been what collector's refer to as: "a good signer." He is very nice and always wants to please. Now that he has an agent for "signing purposes" - his signed photos are going for about $150-$175.
That comes with a COA and a picture of him signing the item. However,
Hulk Hogan ... I still believe would sign for free for anyone if they catch him at an event and are polite. Three things to remember when collecting:
(1) Never bother ANY celebrity when they are sitting down to eat with
their family or friends.
(2) Never go to their homes - EVER.
(3) Never ask for more than two items to be signed.
Hulk Hogan's signature has changed somewhat through the years - WHY ?
If you signed your name 10,000+ times a MONTH - yours would change to.
Thus, my early autograph of Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Randy "Macho Man" Savage - are nicer and clearer than the ones they would sign
today.
A final thought, Hulk Hogan I understand was served with divorce papers.
Thus, his life has been turned upside down. Plus, his son was in a car accident recently and made it thru OK - but the passenger isn't doing well. When it comes to his family - from what little I know and have seen - his family means everything to him ... so I can only imagine what he and his family are going through. Remember this, there are moments when "we collectors" need to NOT ask for an autograph - but rather wish them well and shake their hand .. and let them go on their way.
One of the things Hulk Hogan use to say when being interviewed by the famous "Mean Gene" Okerland - way back in the late 80's-mid 90's ...... "say your prayers, etc." If you are a true fan I strongly suggest that you do just that - pray for the entire family and also his son's friend who is is critical injured in the hospital.
I can be contacted at: bossman1959@gmail.com
Yours,
Dean C.
PS: I collect autographs of all sports - mostly on 3x5's cards ....... **NOTE ADDED SEPT 08** As well Hogan now does signings and a personal video message sent to YOU at www.liveautographs.com He will say whatever you like and the pieces are very nice ranging from 149 to 500. The bonus is you see him sign your piece and get a video of the signing as well as the personal message on a DVD at the end to insure 100% authenticity. AND! they gave me this code: CH77 to get 10% off. www.liveautographs.com is the site. check it out.
