You would, most likely have to buy a new avatar.

Its not fire, it is just the swords going in slow motion. If you look ahead to when Zuko and Jet are fighting back to back you will see that both of them sometimes have those flashes, so it is also the swords going really fast. It is not blue fire bending though.

Apparently in the story Arc she was Banished to a neighboring Earth Kingdom Colony, which was run by Fire Nation. Zuko had already met her previously but it was never stated, she lived much closer to home than was originally believed.

She was always around, but was never allowed to let Zuko know of her identity. Check the episode where Zuko and his sister Azula, along with Mei and Ty Lee, are all on that summer island for a vacation. You'll see a picture of her, and in flashbacks you'll see her as well.

Again, she was never really introduced to be revealed in any of the story arcs, more like it was Zuko's inspiration to keep moving forward which was what drove him to become Fire Lord.

Because 'The Last Airbender' is based on Avatar The Last Airbender Book 1. Azula and Toph aren't in the movie because they don't appear until Book 2. 'The Last Airbender 2' will have Toph and Azula.
