There are several flying creatures that can be seen in the movie, but 2 are the most prominent. The mountain banshee, or ikran in Na'vi, are seen often and are the creatures the Na'vi bond with and ride. The large red flying creature is a Great Leonopteryx, or toruk in Na'vi.

An average Na'vi male is about 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall. Females are a little shorter. The human-made avatars are roughly the same height. However, the avatars differ from Na'vi anatomy in another key sense-- they have 5 fingers/toes on each hand/foot, but the real Na'vi have only 4.

Somewhat it is rated PG-13 for some violence and action. Therefore, parents should be considerate of their child/rens' maturity before allowing them to view the movie.

The difference is, the special edition avatar has 9 extra minutes of deleted scenes

Yes. In fact, in 2006 he said if the movie is successful he'll make 2 more movies. After the films recent success, James Cameron has confirmed that there will be a sequel, most likely continuing from the end of the first film and following Jake Sully and Neytiri. No development plans nor a title have been announced yet.

The toruk (or The Great Leonopteryx as people from Earth call it) is "at the top of the food chain" and prides itself in flying high above everything else. As it is the "predator of all predators" it has no need to be wary and so doesn't look above it to check for danger. Jake used that to his advantage and flew, on his mountain banshee (Na'vi word : ikran), above a toruk and jumped from his banshee to the toruk's back and quickly bonded with it.

Avatar is transcendental in the way that it touches upon "new life" and nature. When Jake Sully enters into Pandora, he is trying to adapt to the Na'vi culture to become on of them. Also, if you saw the movie and remember the scence where the Na'vi people were worshipping Mother Nature, that is a spiritual aspect which is also transcendental trait.

The glasses need to be magenta and a specific shade of green. Regular red/green or blue/green do not work properly.

If you saw it in theater you also cannot wear the glasses you wore in the theater if you are now watching it on ur tv at home..they are 2 different formats..just though i would let you know cuz alot of my friernds steal the glasses from the theater expecting them to work for anything 3d and they dont.
