ballet dancers enable themselves to rotate or 'pirouette' on her toes by the use of very helpful pointe shoes. How do you tie ballet slippers?

If you mean pointe shoes, you take the outsdie ribbon, bring it around the inside of the foot just above the ankle, and keep bringing it around until you can put it under where you wrapped it around, just behind the ankle. Then you take the inside ribbon and wrap it aroudn the outside ankle. When it meets with where the outside ribbon is, you tie the two ribbons in a knot and tuck it up under where it can't be seen. Flat shoes, aren't tied they are just slipped on.

What does a ballet dancer usually wears?

Leotard: Just a basic correct-fitting leotard is good.

Tights: Depends on your studio's requirements, but pink or black for girls is good. (Black tights are usually cut off just above the ankle and do not tuck into your shoes)

Legwarmers: Can be different sizes and colors, usually used when it is cold or when the dancer is recovering from an injury she/he may use a legwarmer to warm up the injured ankle or whatever it is faster.

Shirts: Some classes allow you to wear shirts. They should be tight fitting though so your teacher can see your body better.

Sweatpants: Most teachers do not like you to wear sweatpants because the obstruct their view of your legs. If you are allowed to wear them they are usually only allowed during winter.

Unitard: Some dancers may prefer a unitard- a one piece leotard basically.

For guys, it is usually a white shirt and black tights or a unitard.

It varies depending on what studio/company you dance with though. Some require a certain color leotard, etc. My company has specific colors assigned to each level of class, until you get to the advanced level, in which you can wear any color. So check the website of your dance studio or call them and ask.
