Ballet originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th and 16th centuries before being exported to France by Catherine de Medici. The name of the inventor, if there was a single inventor, is lost to history.
In the 17th century, King Louis XIV enjoyed the dancing called "ballet" so much that he hired his own dancing teacher and founded the first dancing academy in Paris 1661.France and Italy were the centers of ballet until the 1890's when French choreographer Marius Petipa moved to Russia. There he met the famous composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (pronounced Chy-kof-skee). Together they produced some of the most difficult and beautiful ballets that are still performed today such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty.
In 1909, Sergi Diaghilev formed a company of Russian dancers, composers and designers called the Ballets Russes. This dance troupe had a new abstract style and often didn't have a story with the dance. The great George Balanchine was part of this troupe. Later, Balanchine came to the United States and started the New York City Ballet, Paul Mejia, the choreographer and Fort Worth Dallas Ballet Artistic Director, studied under Balanchine. What you are viewing today is a direct descendent from ballet's earliest and finest roots. Ballet has grown and changed and the famous dances have been passed down from one famous foot to another!

You are 16 years old and weigh 61 kg and 162 cm Is that to much for a ballet danser?
That is a healthy size for your age, and if you've got the talent and perserverance, what's to stop you?
Ballet is a harsh profession, so if you're looking to go professional, I would talk to the companies themselves and to a nutritionist if you are concerned that your size is limiting your opportunities. I have seen amazing dancers of all shapes and sizes.

Pointe shoes are the type of ballet slipper that allows enough support for the dancer to go fully up on their toes. You should NOT use these until you are over the age of 13, or if you have weak ankles. If you have weak ankles, excersize them by pointing and flexing using a rubber excersize band to provide resisitance.
These are used when the dancer is strong enough to perform an entire routine on their toes, with the exception of preparatory movements (such as a plie before a turn) or when landing a jump.

Who is the queen in the nutcracker?
answer 1
there is no queen it is not a princess tale its about a girl who went on a adventure with a nutcracker. the only queen is the snow queen but she doesnt rule the land or anything
answer 2
I mean, yeah, there aren't exactly any characters in the Nutcracker with the actual name "Queen of Nutcracker-World" or anything, but I think you might be thinking of the Sugar Plum Fairy. She is the queen of the Kingdom of Sweets, and she is also one of the most important roles in the Nutcracker (other than like, Clara, the Nutcracker and the Rat King).

In 1986, the family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. After completing his second year at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, he transferred to the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet.
What ballet colleges are the best for producing professional ballet dancers?
You can't just go to NYCB's training school, which is really called the School of American Ballet. You must be admitted into it by the time you are 18 years old, and have perfect turnout, decent musicality, and a good body for ballet. It really isn't a college; it is connected with Juiliard, however, which is good for ballet and modern dancing. It's not the same as SAB or NYCB, though. Other ballet colleges are North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA), Mercyhurst PA, Indiana, Point Park. But those are more intense schools. Other colleges, like Kutztown, offer smaller ballet programs that aren't as intense as other colleges.
