They glean and forage throughout trees for insects. They also make short flights to catch insects. They sing and call in a loud, flurty whistle. They come into to people's yards and sip nectar from bird feeders. They are also known to eat oranges and grape jelly that humans let out. They live in the Eastern United States in the summer and in Mexico, Central America, and South America. They breed in woodland edges and open areas with scattered deciduous trees. They wove a gourd shaped nest out of hair, plant fiber's, and synthetic fibers. They lay three to seven pale grayish-white eggs streaked and blotched with dark lines. These eggs hatch in 11 to 14 days. The chicks are born helpless and flege 11 to 14 days later. They eat insects, spiders, fruits, nectar, grape jelly, caterpillars, berries, and eat from humming bird feeders. They love anything orange.

The Baltimore Orioles have won 6 American League pennants: 1966, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1979, 1983 The franchise also won a pennant in 1944 when they were the St. Louis Browns.

Baltimore Orioles in the Hall of Fame are Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Jim Palmer, Earl Weaver, Cal Ripken, Jr. and Eddie Murray.

Other former Oriole players in the Hall of Fame inducted as members of a different team are Luis Aparicio, Reggie Jackson, George Kell, Robin Roberts, Hoyt Wilhelm and Dick Williams.

Also worthy of note is that Adebayo Akinfenwa was lucky enough to wear 26 during his brief stay at Torquay United. He used to play for a Lithuanian giant, and has since become a giant.

The Orioles 2008 AAA affliate is the Norfolk (Virginia) Tides of the International League. The Tides have been the Orioles AAA team since 2007.

The Baltimore Orioles were originally known as the Milwaukee Brewers when the franchise was established in 1901. After just one season in Milwaukee, the team relocated to St. Louis and became the St. Louis Browns. In 1954, the franchise moved to Baltimore and adopted the name Baltimore Orioles, which has remained ever since.

Brady Anderson is currently a hitting coach and outfield instructor with the Baltimore Orioles, and is also a part-time announcer and TV commentator doing Orioles games. He is with the team right now during Spring Training in Sarasota, Fl.

During the off-season, he works with MLB and other pro sports players with their conditioning and training in California.

According to MLB's official historian, John Thorn, the current New York Yankees franchise was not the Baltimore Orioles that existed in 1901 and 1902. His quote:

"We discussed this at length when we did the first edition of our new encyclopedia in 2004. IIRC, the deciding factor was that the Baltimore franchise went bust during the season and was turned over to the league. After the season, the league then sold a new franchise to investors in New York City. We felt that wasn't really a relocation or a transfer; it was simply filling the gap in the league that was opened when the Orioles' franchise disintegrated.

Of the 39 players who appeared for Baltimore in 1902, only five appeared for New York in 1903. Jimmy Williams was the regular second baseman for both clubs. Herm McFarland, a utility player in '02, became a regular outfielder in '03. Ernie Courtney played one game for Balto. in 1902, then 25 for NY in 1903. Harry Howell was the only pitcher of consequence to make the transition. Snake Wiltse (4 G in '03) also appeared for both."

As such, Major League Baseball no longer recognizes the 1901 and 1902 Baltimore Orioles as the same franchise as the New York Highlanders and Yankees.
