Banana island is in Luxor, Egypt, located in the Nile River (obviously) and I went there with my family on a small river-boat. You could alos take a faluka, or even swim! (Though I don't know much about the currents, but there aren't many crocs (!) and there were a lot of boys with no shirts on swimming under our boat) I hope this has shed a little light, but if not...look it up in an atlas of Luxor.
