Can anyone Explain a Satanic Christening?
The Satanic Baptism of 3 year old Zeena LaVey taken place at 9pm on 23rd May in 1967 in the Main Ritual Chamber at 6114 California Street (formally known as the Black House. Present were: High Priest Anton LaVey, "Living Altar", Zeena LaVey, High Priestess Diane LaVey.
At the age of 3, I was the world's first famous Satanic toddler. Afterall what better choice for the Church of Satan's first legal baptism than its High Priestesses and High Priest's own daughter?
I knew of course that all of the people packed into the house that day were there to pay tribute to me .
Sitting high on the altar, I had the perfect vantage-point to survey all my subjects. Imperiously, I surveyed the sea of black-hooded celebrants.
It took me a few years to realise that some of them may have been more fascinated with the naked women sprawled on the altar than with me.
Calmly chewing on a stick of Trident fruit-flavoured gum, I delighted in being the focal point of all this activity. "I have something they don't," I thought proudly, in keeping with the indulgent philosophy of Satanism.
Photographers, who had been gathering outside the house at 6 A.M., were now doing anything to get closer for clear shots of me.
By late May my serious, cherubic face had been slapped on every magazine and newspaper from Sweden to Japan, Argentina to Alaska.
Through out my life I would replay the words intoned during my baptism:
"The may footed walkers give to you the strength, the power of red fang and claw,
all the madly dancing demons fill you with the lost knowledge of ancient ones.
Small sorceress, most natural and true magician, your tiny hands have the power to pull the living heavens down and from its shards build a monument to your own
sweet indulgence… And with these others in the devil's fane, you so will cause the
heads of men to reel and spin, you will fill them with desire. And so we dedicate
your life to love, to passion, to indulgence, and to Satan and the way of darkness,
fane. Hail Zeena! Hail Satan!"
I had a brief, privite ritual that I performed nearly every other day, shortly after the release of The Satanic Mass . This consisted of placing the record on my turntable, centering a figure of the Statue of Liberty over the spindle, and focusing on the spinning statue and the red record label. Finding the track containing my baptism, I would play the "Hail Zeena!" incessantly. I don't know many 3-year-olds experience as much ego exaltation and adrenalin-rush from a single event as I did!
I've always felt that I am able to use any given person or situation to my own advantage.
I became the first individual in history to exist as a Satanist since birth, with my baptism my first formal initation. I have always regarded this with the utmost respect and reverence, and have never for a moment wavered in understanding this to be the definition of my life.
Does the church of God believe that speaking in tongues is a sign of the holy spirit baptism?
I do not know the answer to your question, but I can say something about the speaking in tongues. God blesses men to be able to speak in the language of the people they are addressing, even though they have never spoken that language before. He will also bless a people to understand what a person is saying even when he speaks in his own tongue. The one is the Gift of Tongues and the other is the gift of Interpretation of tongues. Speak not in the gift of tongues witout understanding it, or without interpretation.
It is a sacrement, and it is performed as a ritual. All sacraments are rituals; ritual is not a bad word. Rituals are signs that incorporate a sacred meaning. Marriages, for example, can be represented by a ritualistic exchange of rings. Baptism is both a ritual and the reality of what takes place in a person's life who give's his/her life to Christ Jesus. The scripture says of Jesus that he baptizes with fire and the holy spirit.
When we perform a baptism in water, we are acting out ,through a physical practice, an expression of what Christ does in the life of the believer. When He allows the fire of trials to take place in our lives, He is submerging our old sinful self so that we might rise in the image of Him; in newness of life. This is where the holy spirit brings us comfort to know that He is with us.
Baptism is expressed in the process of planting as well. When the seed is placed under the earth ,it undergoes a shedding of the exterior skin so that the life within can be produced. It then rises from the ground, a wonderful new creation(2corinthians5:17). Through the baptism (the actual baptism that Christ performs) we shed our tendencies to focus on meaningless external things, and have our relationship to God which is of the heart.
Time itself is a baptism as well. Our spirit is God-breathed and therefore comes from eternity. He has chosen to submerged our eternal spirits within time, that we might rise back to Him in eternity, having been perfected through the trials of time.
Why does the Catholic church no longer baptize by immersion?
Sometimes, nowadays, the Roman Catholic Church actually does baptize by immersion. It has been an option since liturgical reforms after the Second Vatican Council, and many churches built or remodeled since then have rather large baptismal fonts precisely for Baptism by immersion. Nonetheless, in most places, Baptism by immersion is not very popular in Catholic Churches, as opposed to Baptism by pouring water on the head.
Probably Baptism by immersion fell into disuse in the Catholic Church because it is messy, and dry-cleaning silk vestments after they have been immersed in water can be impossible, or at least expensive. Plus, many people, especially in colder countries have regarded baptism by immersion as unhealthy for themselves and their infant children.
It is interesting to note that not all Catholics are Roman Catholics, and that Eastern Rite Catholics never stopped baptizing by immersion.

Not necessarily. The only symbolic dress that would be appropriate is something white, since that is the color associated with Baptism. While the Catholic Church allows for an infant Baptism, and while infant Baptisms are the most frequent, several thousand Catholics are Baptized every year as adults.

The letters are not 'P' nor 'X'. This symbol - a very ancient secret symbol of Christianity is known as the 'Chi-Rho' sign. It was used, along with an anchor and a fish as secret symbols used to identify Christians if two people met secretly, during the time in the early Church when being identified as a Christian meant almost certain death in the Roman arena fighting gladiators or lions. These letters are actually the Greek letters 'Chi' χ and 'Rho' ρ These two letters were the first two letters of the name 'Christos' (Ch + R) meaning 'Christ'. Why is a child given a special name at baptism?
This has a double purpose. The first is to show that we believe that through Baptism one is born again, this time into the Mystical Body of Christ (or the Church if you prefer). The second is a bit more in depth. When choosing a baptismal name, one must pick the name of an officially canonized Saint. That Saint then becomes their patron and intercedes for them in Heaven before the throne of God.
Why is baptism not mentioned in the Apostles creed?
The purpose of the Apostle's Creed was to set down what is the "orthodox" or standard belief concerning the nature of God, that is, God's Trinitarian nature (God is one, yet God the Father is divine, Jesus is divine, and the Holy Spirit is divine), and what each persona of the Godhead does. (God creates, Jesus dies and rises again, and the Holy Spirit empowers belief). Baptism is a sacrament of the church and doesn't bear on the doctrines being taught in the Apostle's Creed.

Can two persons of the same sex be Roman Catholic Godparents?
No. Canon law (#873) specifies that candidates for baptism may have a male or female sponsor, or one of each sex. In some places, two godparents of the same sex have been allowed by individual pastors/priests/parishes, but this is in direct contradiction to the discipline of the Church. In some places, there is also the custom of having multiple sponsors (more than 2). It seems that this custom is not, properly speaking, allowed by law either. The role of the sponsor is to witness to the faith on behalf of the candidate, to assist the parents of the candidate in their duties, and to provide a model of christian living to the newly baptized. To state it most positively, it seems that the Church realizes the value of having both male and female sponsors to serve parents and mentor baptized in both the masculine and feminine dimensions. (To deny, for instance, a little boy of the priviledge of having a godfather as a good masculine mentor in favor of a second godmother would seem to be what is intended here.)
