• Ignoring the absurd Internet rumors, there does not appear to be a concrete reason PBS cancelled Barney.
• It's possible it was partially due to the fact that after 10 years, the actor who played Barney, David Joyner, wanted to move to L.A. and become a S.A.G. performer.
• Most likely though, it was cancelled for the same reason every show usually ends. The ratings did not justify the money PBS was putting into producing new episodes.

No they cannot. Barney and friends has not made any new episodes since 2009 though reruns still air on PBS.

Last I checked, nothing confirmed what Barney would have supposedly weighed. (playing as the character, not the actual weight combined by the person in the costume, and the costume itself)

I grew up with him. Last I heard he moved to L.A.

Barney Stinson the character is not gay. However the actor that plays Barney is Neil Patrick Harris and he is gay.

Barney is technically not fake, because a person used to play Barney, but he is just a main character in a show. Barney may be based on a real animal[not sure which]. Barney seems to just be a person with a weird voice, dressed in a giant costume. No actual talking animals could ever not fake. Hope that answers your question.

Barney Danson! He is the one who melested children, shot them, and cussed on t.v. His show is not very educated and he plays a big purple dinosaur that is six feet tall. and is really old right now or even dead!

That's subjective. While the character as portrayed is obviously meant to be taken as good, he would not be thought so by a variety of different groups.

If one wishes to be overtly technical, and avoid the social/philosophical disputes, one could say that if imitating an actual dinosaur is the goal, then "Barney" is quite bad at it.

Dinosaurs were said to be cold blooded, mindless lizards. "Barney" does not behave that way!
