These numbers are a touch inflated. Most people count players that played the majority of their career for one team. Consider the fact that there are only 19 managers in the Hall yet someone has listed 31 from just 3 teams. The Giants do have the most Hall of Famers, however on their official site they only list 29 as having spent the majority of their career with the team. They break it down further by listing 23 other members of the Hall who spent a small portion of their career with the team. They go on to list only 1 manager and 3 broadcasters. Take the above numbers with a grain of salt and do a little research for yourself.

Players usually arrive 3 or 4 hours in advance of the game. This gives them time to suit up, do a light workout, meet with coaches and managers, etc. One exception is when a west coast team travels east directly after a night game on the west coast. They may get to the park only shortly before the game.

You cannot rightfully compare athletes from Babe Ruth's era to the athletes of today. There are too many advancements in equipment, baseball science, and athletic conditioning. The fairest way to compare two eras in sports would be to rate what the athlete accomplished during his own era compared to the other athletes in their sport.

For example Babe Ruth at one time early in his career was hitting more home runs than entire teams. He hit 54 home runs in 1920 the next highest ballplayer had 19. He hit more home runs than every team in major League baseball with the exception of the Phillies with 64. It would be like one of today's hitters hitting 180 home runs or more in a season. Before the 1980's if you hit 20 home runs you were considered a home run hitter. Today every one hits 20 home runs.

Today, Baseballs are wound tighter, bats are lighter, parks are smaller, the pitchers mound is lower, the strike zone is smaller, and the athletes are better conditioned. You can't compare Alex Rodriguez to Babe Ruth.

Vince Coleman, who played in the major leagues from 1985 to 1997, is the only player of baseball's modern era to accomplish that feat. He stole 110 bases during his rookie season with the St. Louis Cardinals, and then stole 107 in 1986 and 109 in 1987. He is the only player in baseball history to steal 100-plus bases in each of his first three seasons. He was the last person to steal 100 bases in a season (in 1987) and ranks sixth all time with 752 career steals.

Hall of Famer George Brett of the Kansas City Royals won the American League batting title in 1976, 1980, and 1990. He's the only player in baseball history to win the batting title in three differnt decades.

The great Pittsburgh Pirates right fielder won 12 consecutive Gold Gloves from 1961 to 1972.
