Can Golf swing affect a batting swing?

Golf Ruins Batting Swing?YES, the worst thing for a baseball swing is Golf and the worst thing for a golf swing is baseball. Ask any good golfer if they play softball or baseball during the season or vice versa. Your body is in different positions in each game, its best not to mix the two.

No. They are basically the same swing but the ball is just at a different level. The eyes should be focused on the ball. Each swing helps each other out by relating back certain points to focus on.

Yes. It does. If you play baseball, do NOT golf under any circumstances, unless you want your baseball swing ruined completely.

Absolutely not! I am a good baseball player/fair golfer and I would agree with the statement that each only helps the other. Of course there are differences, but a good athlete adjusts. Besides, think about all the pro baseball players that golf throughout the off season...

Sorry, the correct answer is "Yes". The physcial swing from the wrist to hands is basically the same. The arms, hips and legs are very different. Only at impact is it the same, getting there is entirely different. Hockey players are much better golfer than baseball. MUCH BETTER.

NO! A golf swing can help many things about a baseball swing. transferring weight, proper use of core muscles, balance. My seven yr. old was having trouble hitting, his weight transfer was minimal if at all. One trip to the driving range and he's back to solid line drives up the middle and right field (he's a lefty). Kids especially have no trouble differing the two, its the adult who thinks of a hundred things during both swings that have trouble.

Who invented baseball and when?

The official explanation is that Gen. Abner Doubleday invented Baseball in Cooperstown, NY.

In reality, this is a complete myth. Doubleday likely never played Baseball in his life. However, he was a very popular figure and war hero, and adding his name helped lend respectability to the game.

Baseball actually has no inventor and no single point of origin. Bat and ball games were played for many years in Europe and The Americas in the 18th century. The first recorded mention of the word "Baseball" comes from the 1744 "A Pretty Little Pocket Book," where it mentioned a bat and ball game. However, this game has very little to do with actual baseball.

Local areas in America began to develop different bat and ball games throughout the years and sometimes would get together into regional tournaments. There was little standardization in the rules and the games often resembled modern Baseball very little.

This all changed during The Civil War when young men from all around the country began to come together and socialize. Different Baseball concepts were shared and the game began to take on a more standardized feel as inter-regiment tournaments began.

Al Spalding would market the first baseball kits, which included standardized rules and the basic equipment needed for the 19th century game.

The modern rules were formalized in 1901 when the second major league (The American League) formed, and have undergone very little change since.

The first mascot they had was named Skully. In fact my Dad worked with the guy that named Skully. Tampa Bay had a draw for fans and he won the privelage of naming the mascot. The new one is Captain Fear, a caricature of a pirate. Huge Bucs fan. Been reading and watching about them my whole life.
During the orange and white years, it was a buccaneer that went by the name Bruce. After the team revamped, changed uniforms, stadiums, and team colors, they also changed mascots. The more recent mascot is a more comical looking pirate that goes by the name of Captain Fear.

What is a baseball cork?

Cork Ball, as it was played in the southend of Columbus, Oh. after WWll consisted of simply a fishing cork and a cutoff broomstick handle. The cork was normally wrapped in in any electrical tape we could scrounge from our parents. Our game consisted of 3 strikes and you were out of the inning. We used street curbs on each side of the street plus and other areas between the sidewalks on each side to mark our singels, doubles, etc. The uniqueness of our game the way the cork was pitched. It was gripped between the thumb and the index and middle fingers and released underhanded. Depending on the angle of release, the cork would dive, drop, curve(dramatically) or rise in and out. The batter never knew what was coming. The cork ball pitcher's motion was similar to a fastpitch softball pitcher. In the seventies and eighties I taught my sons the game. Now the grandsons are learning. One thing about this game; You need good eyes! Old timers like me need not apply.
