Do mattress covers stop bedbug infestations?
There are many nasty chemical treatments you can use, however heat is the only chemical free and assured way to kill bed bugs. I mean LOTS of heat. Isolate the mattress (as the little nasties will contaminate everything from curtains to carpets to clothes) and anything else that has come in contact with it. Put any bedsheets in a plastic sealed bag and throw them in the bin or wash in boiling water. Tape up windows and any cracks or crevaces in the room and steam the buggers! Often if the infestation is severe, the best treatment is to dispose of the mattress and steam treat the room itself. Vacuums will transport eggs/larvae so dont use it or you are just spreading the problem.
Do bed bugs come out in the day time?
YES. Though bed bugs prefer to come out only at night, to bite you in your bed while you sleep (generally in the small hours of the night), they WILL bite you at any time of day if they are hungry and you are around. If you are not sleeping in your bed, or have made it hard for them to bite you at night, then this is inevitable. They prefer to bite at nighttime, in the dark, but will bite in broad daylight if they have to.

How do the bed bugs drink blood?
Bedbugs eat the blood of humans. They do this by crawling on to the body of a person, usually while that person is asleep in their bed during the night. They bedbug can detect the CO2 the sleeping person breathes out. After crawling along the sheet the bedbug climbs on to on to a part of the person's body, usually a limb. to have its meal.
The bedbug will pierce their skin and inject an anaesthetic and coagulant into the person's blood stream. That means the person will not feel anything while the bedbug then inserts a tiny tube into the person's bloodstream and starts sipping a small quantity of the sleeping person's blood which comes out of the person slowly because of the effect of the coagulant.
Completion of the meal will normally take the bedbug 5 to 10 minutes. After completion of the meal the now engorged bedbug will now crawl off the person and back along the sheet to return to its hiding place which is very often in the folds of the bed's mattress.
The person does not usually wake up while the bedbug is having its meal, but it may start to itch maddeningly when the anaesthetic wears off making him scratch vigorously to gain relief and in time a nasty looking red rash will appear on the person's skin at the place the bedbug had its meal on them.

yes they have very nasty bed bugs and they hurt and make you itch!
No. unlike fleas bedbugs infest beds not people or animals. The bedbug detects the breath of any person near to it sleeping. The bedbug homes in on where the sleeping human's breath is coming from to find its food, which is human blood. After its meal the bedbug will usually set up its base in or near the bed and females lay eggs near to or in the bed so new bedbugs get born and so the bed becomes more and more infested. Bedbugs do not normally bite animals nor are they attracted to pets or to the bed of pets.

Ants have a main brain and several smaller brains that run along the length of their bodies called, "ganglia". The ganglia are little assistant brains to the main brain. The brain inside the ants head controls things like smell, sight and touch, but the smaller brains control, to some degree movement of the ant. Have you ever noticed that an ant will continue to twitch if you step on it? Even if the head is separated from the ants body, the legs will still twitch. This is because the smaller brains (ganglia) are still telling the ants legs to move!
