How long to cook a 2.5 lb roast beef?

Place in a small baking pan, add water to cover the bottom of the pan.

Slow cook it at 250-270 degrees for several hours covered.

Once the meat has reached 135-155 internal temp or until desired coloring.

I would recommend doing a simple dry rub on the roast before cooking. Even add some veggies like carrots, potatoes or onions. They will release juices as they cook as well as add a great flavor to the end product.

How many pounds of sliced roast beef will be needed to serve 60 sandwiches?

Okay, I've cooked for large crowds. Here's the trick. It applies across the board &, since I havent cooked meat for large crowds, you are gonna have to supply the first answer. I will supply the equation that gets you to yr answer.

1/ How much meat do you need for one hamburger? I actually really don't this answer. I suppose that you do, but if you don't, there are plenty of cooking websites that will tell you. here are two that might be helpful:

www.hamburger-recipes.com/

&

www.thebesthamburgerrecipes.com/

2/ Once you decide on yr recipe, it isn't that difficult to extrapolate from a recipe for six people to one for sixty. Pretty much you just multiply by ten [if yr recipe's for six] or by sixty [if yr recipe's for one]. Lemme tell you, tho, unless you wanna cook the same thing ten times over, you need bigpots.

3/ The only other concerns you might consider is whether you want to have extra for extra helpings &3b/ whether all sixty people are gonna wanna eat the hamburgers. If you know in advance that there will be lots of people who, for one reason or another, are passing on meat, you can make less. If there are gonna be a lot of kids under the age of, say, eleven, you also might make less.

As in most cases, my guess is that in yrs if you take how much meat you need for one hamburger & then just multiply by sixty you will hit an appropriate amount for yr burger crowd. I'm not trying to be flippant, by the way. I am thinking that nobody really wants a whole lot of meat to sit around & have to be thrown away. Normally I would tell you to make a little less than you seem to need. Because of the way the economy has been, I wont do that now. I have seen with my own eyes that people are a lot hungrier than they were when jobs were plentiful. I have fed them with money I barely have & so I am also thinking that yr giant hamburger meal may very well be very very well appreciated.

Can you use bottom round roast for soup?

Yes, you can use bottom round roast for soup. While it is a lean cut of beef, it can add rich flavor when slow-cooked in broth. To ensure tenderness, it's best to cut it into small pieces and simmer it for a longer period, allowing the meat to become flavorful and tender. Just be mindful that it may not be as melt-in-your-mouth tender as other cuts like chuck roast.

Roasting times

Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F) and use these cooking times to prepare a roast that's moist, tender and delicious.Your roast should be covered with foil for the first half of the roasting time. 5 to 7 lb Joint 2 to 2½ hours Pork and Ham should be roasted for the full times given above, Beef and Lamb can be taken out sooner if you prefer rare (bloody) meat. Tips for a better roast. For extra flavour you can add optional vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, onions and celery to your roasting pan, and roast the meat 'on a bed' of veg. The veg also helps to keep the roast off the bottom of the roasting pan so it doesn't 'stew' in its own juices.

How much roast beef to cook for 90 people?

The standard catering rule of thumb is one quarter pound of meat per person. I recommend twenty-five pounds, so that you do not run short, especially if it turns out to be quite delicious. Surveying those found on your guest list to determine the number of vegans or vegetarians is a smart and thoughtful move as well.

How do you cook a frozen ribeye roast?

Its a bad idea to put a frozen ribeye roast straight in the oven -- you'll end up with a really cooked outside and a raw interior. You need to defrost the meat and bring it close to room temperature to get the best results. Remove the roast from the freezer and defrost it IN THE REFRIGERATOR for at least 24 hours before you start cooking (you may need longer depending on how big the roast is). Once the roast is fully defrosted, remove it from the refrigerator and let it sit out on the counter for at least an hour at room temperature before cooking.

This process allows the interior temperature of the outside and inside of the meat to get a lot closer to one another, and your meat will cook more evenly.

Choose a nice USDA Choice Sirloin Roast or Rib Roast or Tenderloin Roast. IF your budget will allow it, chooice USDA Prime. If you have a local butcher, always visit there first. How can a prime rib be cooked to perfection in a roaster?

Ask the butcher to remove the chine (backbone), if present, and to "pull the ribs" (cut between the rib bones and the rib meat) and tie the roast back together again, with the rib bones. These steps make the roast easier to carve.

Use a shallow roasting pan or baking pan large enough to hold the roast. Preheat the oven to 350F. Place the roast in the pan, bone side down. (If there are no bones, place the roast on a roasting rack with the fatty side up.) Do not add water. Do not cover the pan. If desired, rub the roast with minced garlic. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Place pan in oven and cook the beef, uncovered, until the internal temperature of the meat is 135G (for medium-rare) to 150F (medium). Remove from oven even though the roast is not completely done at this point. Approximate roasting time for a three-pound roast will be 1 hour for medium-rare or 1:20 for medium.

To test the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer, remove the pan from the oven. Insert the thermometer deeply in the meat, away from bone and fat; allow about 10 seconds before removing to read and test in a second location to be certain of temperature.

Allow roast to stand at room temperature 10 to 15 minutes to complete cooking. This also makes roasts firmer and easier to carve.

The final temperature should be between 145F for medium-rare and 160F for medium. Check the internal temperature again in two locations to be certain that the meat is done according to your preference. Return the roast to the oven for further cooking, if necessary.

Carve by cutting across the grain of the meat. For a rib roast, this means crosswise, parallel with the "face" (cut edge) of the roast.

Is a Rib-eye roast better or a standing rib roast?

There's a big difference between a rib eye roast and a standing rib roast. A rib eye roast is essentially a roast consisting of rib eye steaks. A standing rib roast is the same cut of meat as prime rib, only its "choice" not "prime" (like most of the meat we buy). If you are deciding which to purchase for your dinner, I would absolutely recommend the standing rib roast over the other. Standing rib roasts can be hard to find in the supermarket unless its a major holiday, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., most likely because they are being aged for those holidays, but especially if they have been aged, they have a flavor that just can't be beat.

Can two different meats be in the oven together Ham and Roast beef?

Yes, you can bake a ham and roast beef in the oven at the same time. Make sure the internal temperature for each is correct when done by using a meat thermometer, because one may be done before the other, and you may need your cooking time to be longer because you're cooking two things at one. A good temperature for cooking both at the same time would be 350 degrees F.

Will a beef roast cook faster uncovered?

No, your best bet is to put it in the oven at 425 for 15-20min. This will brown the outside. Then cover pan with foil and turn the heat down to 350. And cook until desired doneness. You can always cut the roast in half. That will make 2 smaller pieces that will cook faster. But be careful because the roast could come out drier.

How do you season a rib roast?

I use freshly ground black pepper, sea salt, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix these spices together in any proportion that suits your tastes and rub it onto the entire roast prior to cooking.
