Before the Hunting Act was passed, the Harbourer was the person who goes, out normally in the early morning, and finds and watches the deer, which the hunt wishes to pursue, usually one which has been doing particular damage to crops, and where it lies up.

How many eggs do Darkling Bettles lay?

I am raising mealworms for my chickens and farming/fishing prospects. Darkling female beatles lay anywhere from 400-800 eggs.Good assumption is 500 eggs per lifetime. The egg is no bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.

My first batch of mealworms was 500. and please note: I am taking into account a low mortality rate of 50%:

500 worms(1st generation) divided by 2 =250 pupae

250 pupae divided by 2 = 125 beatles

125 beatles divided by 2 = 62 females

62 females x 500 = 31,000 worms(2nd generation)

31,000 worms divided by 2 =1550 pupae

1550 pupae divided by 2 = 7750 beatles

7750 beatles divided by 2 = 3875 females

3875 females x 500 = 1,937,500 worms (3rd generation)

Im 10% into my 3rd generation

193,750 worms to date

Flour was stored in a tupperware container with a tight fitting lid and when opened was alive with weevils any suggestions?

All round Tupperware brand seals are air tight when properly closed (as well as most rectangular TW brand seals....ask your consultant if you're unsure). If the flour was in a properly sealed air tight container for 48 hours or more, then any weevils (or other pests) would end up at the top of the flour, dead (you could then present it with a receipt for return at the grocery store). The fact that they're still alive means there's a defect/crack in the container or it wasn't sealed properly or it isn't an airtight seal.
