One way to have birds to stop pooping there is to make sure to remove all bird feeders in your area. You also don't want to put a lot of trees in the area of your verandah.

If its bright purple, its most likely a male. However if it is a light purple, it may be a female. Although keep in mind that if your keet is under a year old, then its hard to tell. It may very well be male or female... in which case only time will tell.

In order to answer this question properly one needs to know more specifics about the particular bird. In a young bird, perhaps disease brought home from a pet shop could be a culprit. If the bird is a bit older it could be related to diet. Parakeets fed only seeds develop are susceptible to developing tumors and those often are the cause of death in a bird around the age of two. Perhaps the use of non-stick pots and pans in the kitchen, candles, cleaning agents, sprays could all be suspect. A gas leak of some kind possibly.

Parakeets are birds. They do not get pregnant, as reproduction is done through the laying of eggs. The eggs take about three weeks to form properly in the body, but this is not called "pregnancy". They look the same when they are laying eggs as when they aren't. In other words, birds don't "hold" their eggs inside their bodies and show a big belly to indicate that eggs are on the way. The egg shell is the last thing that develops right before the egg is laid, therefore, a hen doesn't "show" in the sense that human women "show" when they are pregnant.

Birds which are getting close to laying an egg become more lively, excitable and playful, and they may be more aggressive and territorial. If they have a nesting box, they will spend a lot more time in the box, preparing it for nesting, and possibly being very protective of that area. If there is a male, he may start feeding the female.

Border Collies are well known for being same sex aggressive so it's best not to have them together at all. Failing that, the dogs should have their own toys, sleeping areas (securely away from each other), feeding areas and so on. Constant supervision is essential and you should be able to stop any challenging behavior before it escalates. When you can't supervise, the dogs should be separated and confined to their own separate space.

Every time your dogs fight, it will reinforce their reasons for fighting and make it so much more difficult to train out, it is essential that you do not allow it to happen again.
