Most parrots will only mimic sounds, w/o any particular understanding of what they mean.
But parrots are quite intelligent, and (some) can - with considerable effort - be taught to interact in a rational manner.
Recent study conducted from the 1980s and onwards indicates that parrots can indeed speak and understand some human speech, in rare cases on approximately the level of a 3 year old human. Irene Pepperberg's work with Alex (an African Grey) and later with Griffin show they were able to form complex responses, and relate words to objects, numbers and verbs. Check the references below for more detail on this rather remarkable study.
How do you know if the pair of parakeets are getting along?
they may groom each other, or "kiss" each other. ("kissing" is actually just regurgitating seeds and putting it into the other's beak) But this does not only happen between males and females. This can happen with a male and a male, or a female and a female.
A parrot can be tamed with lots of love, attention, a soothing voice, and lots of repetition of words and phrases you'd like the parrot to learn. The younger the parrot, the easier it is to tame. But with patience, an older one will come around as well. A parrot is a pet that NEEDS a great deal of attention. If you don't have the desire to spend lots of time with the parrot, perhaps another pet should be chosen. Parrots who are just put in a cage and given insufficient attention will develop neurotic behaviors. Screeching. Feather plucking. Biting. Aggressiveness. With a roomy cage, daily interaction with it's human family, a nutritious diet, fresh air & sunshine, and plenty of opportunities to be out of the cage for exercise, a parrot can be tamed.

What is a behavioral adaptation of a baby bird in nest?
Dangerous for the bird. The parents will usually recognize the bird as a stranger and remove it. They may also detect your scent and reject the chick for that reason. Call animal control in your area (may be the police or sheriffs) and ask them if they know the number of the local organization that volunteers for bird rescue. Your veternarian will have this information also. Call them and they'll tell you exactly what to do.
What causes parakeets to suddenly die?
In order to answer this question properly one needs to know more specifics about the particular bird. In a young bird, perhaps disease brought home from a pet shop could be a culprit. If the bird is a bit older it could be related to diet. Parakeets fed only seeds develop are susceptible to developing tumors and those often are the cause of death in a bird around the age of two. Perhaps the use of non-stick pots and pans in the kitchen, candles, cleaning agents, sprays could all be suspect. A gas leak of some kind possibly.
Birds seldom die suddenly, in the wild a sick bird will be targeted by predators or by the flock, so birds will hide signs of illness until it is to late.
When will your budgies start mating?
Budgies living in captivity may reproduce at any time of the year, if they are living in the same cage. Make sure to place a nesting box inside the cage, and DO NOT touch the eggs once they are laid. Parakeet eggs have a waxy coat on the shells which protects the chick from parasites.

If you cut the parakeets wing to much will the parakeets wing grow back?
i have cut my budgies wings a little bit to far, but it still grew, but very slowly.
I have, 2 parrots,6 lovebirds, 8 budgies, and 1 conure baby birds.
Parakeets are birds. They do not get pregnant, as reproduction is done through the laying of eggs. The eggs take about three weeks to form properly in the body, but this is not called "pregnancy". They look the same when they are laying eggs as when they aren't. In other words, birds don't "hold" their eggs inside their bodies and show a big belly to indicate that eggs are on the way. The egg shell is the last thing that develops right before the egg is laid, therefore, a hen doesn't "show" in the sense that human women "show" when they are pregnant.
Birds which are getting close to laying an egg become more lively, excitable and playful, and they may be more aggressive and territorial. If they have a nesting box, they will spend a lot more time in the box, preparing it for nesting, and possibly being very protective of that area. If there is a male, he may start feeding the female.

How do you stop two budgies from fighting?
Border Collies are well known for being same sex aggressive so it's best not to have them together at all. Failing that, the dogs should have their own toys, sleeping areas (securely away from each other), feeding areas and so on. Constant supervision is essential and you should be able to stop any challenging behavior before it escalates. When you can't supervise, the dogs should be separated and confined to their own separate space.
Every time your dogs fight, it will reinforce their reasons for fighting and make it so much more difficult to train out, it is essential that you do not allow it to happen again.
