Some parrots, including parakeets, develop a nasty habit of eating their eggs. This isn't very common, but it does happen. Usually this is seen if a pair doesn't feel their offspring will be safe (they'd rather eat the eggs than allow their offspring to be killed). Keets don't purposely break their own eggs...eggs get broken when the birds go in/out of their nesting box, particularly if they are frightened out of the box and in their hurry to get out, they crush eggs. Some eggs can get broken if they collide with another egg. no they do not but they will break them

Budgies usually live to be 10 to 20. The world's oldest budgie lived to a ripe old age of 29!

Tornadoes do often kill birds, though they can survive, especially if the tornado isn't very strong.

They don't get pregnant, exactly. They'll lay an egg that could be unferilized or could be fertilized. Generally, if it doesn't hatch after two months, then I would say the eggs are not going to turn out to be baby birdies.

Pet budgies kept in a cage will not eat much if the cage is small, and they are not expending any energy. Keep your budgie happy: talk to it, interact with it, and give it toys to play with. Budgies like other budgies - real or fake! - ladders and toys that make a bit of noise, such as bells. When you give your budgie something to do, it will be much happier, use more energy and even eat a little more.

If it's mother is present, you may want to get her some food that will help her feed her baby or that has extra nutrients. If it's just you, then you would want to get some baby bird formula that you can most likely find at a local pet store.

Not because of any communications the gulls have with each other! Dropping is a common reaction to being startled or afraid, it lightens the bird and allows them to move a bit faster. And since a sudden noise or movement can startle the whole flock, they would all drop at about the same time.

carrier pigeons are trained to deliver messages, they are trained so they know how to get to their destination. it is me understanding that carrier pigeons were used in world war 1 for delivering messages

the characteristics of a budgie are:

-they do not show when they are sick

-they are very playful

- they are very sensitive, so do not yell at them, or slap them

-they can some times learn to talk, if they live alone (with no budgies)

-they are very messy eaters

A pigeon can die of depression and I have actually seen it happen. I was sitting in my car at red light on Columbus Blvd. in Philadelphia when a bunch of pigeons few onto the road. Well, there was this giant 4X4 next to me and I doubt he saw any of them - but when the light turned green - zoom! - off he went. Unfortunately, right at that moment a pigeon had been walking right in front of his front right wheel - so right then and there I saw a pigeon die of depression. And boy, let me tell you - it was really, really depressed. And so was I after I saw it - but there was nothing anyone could do - it was completely smushed!!!

Simply put, you don't! This will always be a bird's natural instinct (and they LOVE those door wreaths)! You could hang the wreath elsewhere...otherwise, get the camera out and take pictures of the cute little baby birds, as I do! It's really a fascinating experience seeing birds taking care of their young. If the wreath is on your front door, you have an opportunity to watch "up close"....a unique experience, since this doesn't happen often, in the animal world! Don't worry about your door opening and closing. Birds adapt to the activity.

the price of a pet budgie can depend on where its from, what colours it has and if it is hand reared or not.

most budgies that are not hand reared are about $5-$15 or maybe even more.

most hand reared (friendly) budgies are about $12-$25

I suppose it could but I doubt it would be too healthy for the bird. It's like a puppy eating food designed for seniors, or a Chihuahua eating food meant for dogs life St.Bernards. They could eat it, but it's better for them to munch on something made more specifically for them.

The short answer is they are not grounded. You can hang from a line also and not be harmed, but don't try it as if you do it wrong you can be severely hurt or killed. So what does "they are not grounded" mean? Electric current flows from high voltage to low voltage. The power line is high voltage. The earth, or ground, is low voltage. Anything in contact with the earth is also at the same low voltage. That is why there are insulators between the lines and the poles. The higher voltage the lines, the bigger the insulators. You can see this for yourself by looking at a high voltage tower versus a typical wooden power poll. When the bird lands on the line, it is only in contact with the line. There is no path to the lower voltage ground for the electrical current to flow thorugh. No current flow means no harm to the bird. People get into to trouble with power lines because they are almost always in contact with the pole or the ground when they, or something they are holding, touch the line, which means the current flows through them to the lower voltage. Note that the lower voltage does not have to be zero volts. It just has to be lower than the high voltage for the current to flow. It is not the voltage that kills you. It is the combination of voltage and current. No current or low current, no harm. When you scoot your feet on the carpet on a dry day and touch the door knob, a spark jumps and you feel a small snap. Your skin is charged up to 10's of thousands of volts, but there is very little current flow, so no harm is done. Hope this helps.

Budgies are not colour blind. No parrot is colour blind, and their vivid colouring is what attracts the female to the male. Having acute colour vision helps the birds find their food by sight, as they can see the bright colours of the flowers on which they often feed. It is believed that budgies, along with many other bird species, can see better than humans can.

they do not eat meat and NEVER feed them avacado because they can get very sick from it. You can't feed them other foods humans may have except for vegetables, fruits and budgie seeds.

There is no specific color they like better over all. It may just differ from bird to bird what colors they like best, as parakeets can actually see more colors than we can!
