When should you start your period after the first month of birth control?
With oral birth control, when you are taking it for the first time, you should start taking it on the first day of your period. It will regulate your hormones, so that you should expect to have some sort of period during the week you take a break (if that's the sort of pill you are on). I am not familiar with the kinds of pills that are taken everyday, so I can't answer for those ones.
With the first kind, which I was on for eight years, you should also take the following precautions: Take it at roughly the same time every day, this will get you into a good habit of remembering to take it, say, after you brush your teeth, or when you get up. If you are late taking it, still take the pill, but not if it's the next morning as you shouldn't take a double dose.
If you:
Vomit or have diarrhea within 2 hours of taking the pill
Are on antibiotics while taking the pill
Are more than 12 hours late in taking the pill
These situations will mean that you are not protected, and in any of these cases you should also use condoms for seven days after the situaion has resolved,
i.e. tummy upsets (use condoms while you are sick and for seven days after you have recovered)
antibiotics (use condoms while you are on the medication and for seven days after you finish your course of medicine)
more than 12 hours late/miss a dose (use condoms for seven days AFTER you miss the dose, e.g. are late or miss it on Tuesday, use condoms from Wednesday to Tuesday AFTERWARDS)
Hope this helps, i know it's more than you asked for!

A condom would be a non-hormonal barrier birth control method.
in 3,000 BC fish bladders, linen sheaths, and animal intestines were used as a sort of "condom". In the 1500's the fist spermicides were used by soaking condoms made of linen cloths sheaths in a chemical to kill the sperm, then left to dry before use. It wasn't until 1838 that condoms were made of vulcanized rubber. In 1960 the first oral contraceptive was invented. Within the 1960's the IUD was invented and distributed throughout the US. In the 1980's and 1990's implants and injection birth control methods were invented as well as low hormone birth control pills.

Why is crystal called a family of agile methods?
mahdi rohani.
Alistair Cockburn has long been one of the principal voices in the agile community. He developed the Crystal family of software development methods as a group of approaches tailored to different size teams. Crystal is seen as a family because Alistair believes that different approaches are required as teams vary in size and the criticality of errors changes.
Despite their variations all crystal approaches share common features. All crystal methods have three priorities: safety (in project outcome, efficiency, habitability (developers can live with crystal). They also share common properties, of which the most important three are: Frequent Delivery, Reflective Improvement, and Close Communication.
The habitability priority is an important part of the crystal mind-set. Alistair's quest (as I see it) is looking for what is the least amount of process you can do and still succeed with an underlying assumption of low-discipline that is inevitable with humans. As a result Alistair sees Crystal as requiring less discipline that extreme programming, trading off less efficiency for a greater habitability and reduced chances of failure.
Despite Crystal's outline, there isn't a comprehensive description of all it's manifestations. The most well described is Crystal Clear, which has a modern book description. There is also a wiki for further material and discussion of Crystal.

Up to what age can woman become pregnant?
A woman can get pregnant up to age (approximately) 50 without help as in hormone treatments and artificial methods. This is individual and do depend a bit on when the menopause "kicks" in.
Some woman even get pregnant naturally even after the menopause have started but this is not very common. This just to tell that a woman is not considered sterile even after starting menopause.
However:
A woman should try to have children before the age of 40. There are for most woman increased difficulty in becoming pregnant after this age.
Downs Syndrome is also increasingly more commonly found in babies born by "older" women. The percentage of babies born with Down syndrome slowly increase after age of 40.
It is very well possible for older woman (after 50) to become pregnant, but this would include hormonal treatment and egg from a donor.
