In 1995, after the founder of the record label they were with passed away, Mookie Mook and DJ Motiv8 left the band, and together, Will and apl found another member: Jamie Gomez, AKA, Taboo. They then together changed the band name to the Black Eyed Peas. They released an 2 albums after that; Behind the Front and Bridging the Gap. In 2003, Fergie was alerted that the Black Eyed Peas needed a female singer for their song Shut Up. Fergie joined the band later that year, but if you have ever noticed that Fergie rarely appears in Elephunk, that's why.
