How long does fracture of pubic bone take to heal?

There is no treatment. But there are several things that help. Keep a pillow between your legs when sleeping. It should be thick enough to keep thighs parallel with each other. You should try to keep knees together as much as possible. Walking doesn't aggravate it but wide spreading ( left from right) hurts. Ex. When getting out of a chair move both legs to side at same then stand. Also, if you have an SUV try to hop up lifting leg high & to the side is the worse! It does heal but it took a long time!!!

What is treatment of hairline fracture in upper jaw?

Yes, you should have an x-ray to determine if it's hair-line or a broken jaw. Usually if it's a hair-line fracture anywhere in the body there isn't much they can do, but because it's the jaw it's possible they may do something to prevent you from moving your jaw too much and letting it heal.

How do you treat a forearm hairline fracture?

Hairline fractures can also occur when there is a sudden change in the way physical activity is performed. For example, if an athlete who usually runs on grass, suddenly begins running on concrete, he/she could develop a hairline fracture.

Even a change in the intensity with which an activity is carried out can lead to a hairline fracture. For example, if a person who usually walks two kilometers on average suddenly decides to run for those two kilometers, they may develop a hairline fracture.

To treat a hairline or stress fracture a doctor will usually recommend the use of crutches or a cast to keep the weight off the injured part of the body. Along with some medication for the pain and to prevent infection, this is a good non-surgical approach to treating a hairline fracture.

In some cases, however, surgery may be recommended. Here the basic idea is to support the bone to help it heal. This is done by inserting screws or plates (usually in the foot) to keep the bones together.

Ranka Hospital, Pune provides treatment and facilities for hairline fracture.

How long should a cast be on for a fractured foot in a child?

My child had a completely shattered arm in November 2008. She had to have about sugery 13 times. and she has only got it of in December 09.

speaking cast wise - she had a cast on off and on. but if it is badly broken, they tend not to put it in a cast because they might damage it even more. my daughter had about 3 months rest from all the sugery (September 09) and got a strong cast on and that was the first one she had on. so it can vary.

What are the symptoms of ankle bone hairline fracture?

Most fractures that aren't compound in nature first and foremost hurt like hell; second, they always swell up a lot; and depending on the severity, they may or may not bruise, but usually if the bone is fractured bruising does occur - at least it has in every fracture I've ever had, and that's quite a few.

The only way to determine for sure of course is with an X-ray, but they normally want you to wait until the swelling goes down before taking it as swelling impedes the picture of the bone. Many X-rays in the past that were taken immediately after an injury would show no fracture, but on re-examination and another X-ray after swelling had gone down, the fracture would be seen. That's why today they usually make you wait before taking one if you're swollen as they know the picture won't be as accurate.
