This depends on many factors. The swelling is due to the tissue of the arm being damaged. It is possible to break the arm and not do enough damage to the muscles and skin to have any swelling, but it isn't likely. The length of time is also variable and could be anything from a day to several days.

Actually yes it does. Bones sometimes hurt while healing, so if it's towards the middle or end of being in your cast that's probably it. If it's in the beginning it's probably just pain from being broken

If your talking about a tibular/fibular injury, usually about 6 to 8 weeks depending on severity of fx bone and bone quality the small bones take longer because of the constant pressure on your foot

So if you want to break your leg too bad it hurts more than you think or u can.....

3. Drop something heavy

how long does it take to heal a broken femur? it has been a year and still not normal is this the norm?

Depends on the injury, really. I broke my 2nd, 3rd and 4th metatarsals 6 weeks ago. For 2 weeks, I was in a fiberglass cast with the front cut off to make room for swelling, wrapped in an ace bandage. Then I went to a full fiberglass cast for 4 weeks. Now I am in an Air Cast for 4 weeks.

So, really, it depends on what you broke and how much weight the doctor feels you should be putting on the foot

The mechanism or how your wrist was hurt plays a big part. If you have point tenderness over a specific carpal or wrist bone. If you have swelling,and bruising and loss of or decreased range of motion. All these things are part of an exam and history. You will need an xray to be positive.

The signs of a break or sprain are pain, redness, swelling and a decreased range of movement of your hand. If the swelling and pain does not get less over the course of a few hours, it is best to get the wrist x-rayed as certain breaks might not heal well if left alone. Only an x-ray can determine a fracture.

Palpation is the term applied to the use of hands to feel for injury or otherwise aid in medical diagnosis. A break is fairly easy to spot when a person who has experience is making the call. A fracture isn't so easily found. And palpation may hurt. It might make more sense to get the injury looked at by someone who does that sort of thing professionally. Certainly in the case of a break it would be best to have it set by an M.D. to avoid complications and end up with a relatively good working digit after things are said and done.

rest is the main element in healing. keep your arm suspended and elevated. use pain killers as suggested by the bottle/box.

It would likely heal on its own, but the alignment could be off. And it can result in chronic pain later in life if it does not heal right.

An open fracture is when the bone breaks through the skin (however some people also call this a compound fracture) so if you say either it is correct.

Assuming that there aren't any other injuries, the answer is yes, at least initially. though you might not feel much like doing it. After the leg sits for a little while, though, you won't be able to stand on it at all. After the first few days go by, you will be allowed to walk on it as tolerated.
